Just changed filters on a golf 6, 13 year old fuel filter (original from factory, air filter 80000 miles at least, cabin filter factory original also plus more but yet I have paperwork from a garage who claim to have done many full services, it runs amazing now funnily enough. Do it yourself if you can rather than pay £££££££££ for a rubber stamp in your service book with a tick list of lies or online nowadays where you don’t know whether they even done that

At the beginning (1:30) the supply & return lines are opposite of what was shown at the end (2:27) where the blue clip is now in the center... Doesn't this create an issue, especially if that filter has built-in check valves?

Good video. What's your opinion on removing the fuel pump fuse first and giving a few crancks to ensure that the fuel in the line and filter is as minimum as possible before starting the work.

Not a fan. You'd be washing the bores with raw fuel, which then gets into the oil breaking it down. The engine might try, unsuccessfully, to fire possibly setting up EML codes and you'd just be wasting battery power. Far better to release the pressure from the fuel pressure test valve on the fuel rail (into a rag or container) or like I did just let it go when making the first pipe disconnection. There's no getting around spilling some fuel because the old filter is always going to be full of fuel, so just deal with it in one place and be done with it is my MO. I'm sure some will disagree, but that's fine. Many ways to skin a cat and all that.
