Thank for the video I have a question for you. My leak gear oil from the 2 holes under the hydrolic. Is it normal or it have bad gasket. Please help thanks

Eddie, great videos and very well executed. How often do you change your outdrive gear oil? I've heard anything from every year to three years per the mercruiser oil recommendation.

Thanks for the informative video and my question is on the subject but a little more detailed. I am replacing the plastic piece that travels the gear oil through the transom and is held in with a c clip. I noticed the new part has O-rings on it and I'm just verifying that I can simply shove that in and need no special sealant or Lube to get the perfect seal through the transom and also the rubber hose that goes to that connection (outside) is clamped off with what? A plastic little squeeze clamp a zip tie or a metal hose clamp? Thanks for your help in advance

Hey guys how are yall I own a 2008 searay with a 5.0 mercruiser bravo 3 inboard. I am experiencing a little stiffness in my steering wheel when turning I have to turn with a strong grip. my power steering pump doesn't make no noise, and the part that's at the end of boat inside motor compartment doesnt have any play, what could it be?

I noticed my resivoir level is at the fill line, I have a 280 SeaRay Sundancer with a 6.2 Mercruiser, what kind of lube should I put in?

Hi, it is nice information regarding outdrive systems oil. I would recomend to inspect the oil coming out and try to see any metal particles in the oil. If you see metal particles, it means there are problems with internal parts, like bearings and or gears. This inspection could save lot of money, as sooner the problem is discovered, the repair will be less expensive.

Simple job use Mercruiser Oil cost a couple bucks more but its cheaper than a new Bravo 3 as a matter fact New Oil, Filters and Grease is always cheaper than New Bearings, Bushings, and Gears

I have bravo III’s. Replaced my lower unit oil last week. Followed the proper procedure as far as pumping in from bottom until oil came out top vent plug. I then put the vent plug back. I gave it 4-5 more pumps I noticed there was way to much oil in the reservoir so I took the bottom bolt off to let some drain. After a week I looked again and the oil level is now 1/4 inch above the “low” line. Can I put oil in from reservoir now? Or will I have to completely change oil again?

Eddie, great job !!! Very well presented... I am surprised at the engineering though. Why design it so that you fill from bottom to top, why not let gravity feed? Plus you have waste and mess why you are plugging the bottom. Must be a reason for this...

It's the only and best way to purge the system of all the air from the complete drive and avoiding any damage because of lack of lube. If there was a large fill hole on top you could fill from the top like an engine but you are creating a larger area for water to enter if not sealed properly. Engineers were spot on designing it this way. Give it some thought, you'll see it makes the most sense.
