Thanks guy reminding me how to change the Gotrax battery 🔋. Just got it delivered today. The battery really held its charge a year and a few months later. The battery is only $68.99. I'll get another year and a few months out of it plus the old battery as backup.

Thank you for this tutorial. So many people in Philadelphia wanted to tell me the 'deck' portion of my gotrax was the battery, but I kind of knew it was in the neck or tube of the scooter. Thank God for youtube and people like you! My battery kept 'zapping out' and then recharging on its own at certain locations in the city where I live. And I wondered if these locations were like 'hot spots' that could drain battery life should, say, police presence be at a high level for large events or what have you. Mine zapped out in front of Rittenhouse Square (a popular park-ish place here) and also near the police headquarters. And, a guy rode by me on an electric bike...he was wearing a deep purple hoodie...and I even wondered if people had things akin to jammers that could not only interfere with phones but also drain batteries. Lots of hoodlums around this city and who knows what kind of technology exists out there to force people to buy things before necessary.

I like this quick battery change just throw the battery in a bag along with the Allen key and go. I have my scooter charging and the charger is green. I can turn the scooter on when it’s on the charger and it shows 4 bars that it’s fully charged. As soon as I take the charger out of the scooter it turns off. Do you think that’s a battery issue and it needs to be replaced? Thanks! Look forward to hearing back from you.

I’d say it is a dead battery why because you said you had it charged all the way once unplugged it shuts off immediately. There’s definitely 1 or a couple dead cells in there. Before buying a new battery try taking the top half the handle bars and make sure the points are clean. To insure it’s really getting a good charge and not a false one. Need anymore help man lmk I’ll be happy to look further for ya!

Thanks for getting back to me. So I took the handle bars off. Then took the tube around the battery off and disconnected the battery. I now have the handle bars and battery connected without the charger in and it’s on. But it’s only showing three bars

@@markfrench5939 no flashing on the battery bar? If not put it back together make sure you have everything flush seat right to get that good connection. Turn it on and see what it does. If turns on fine try to get the front wheel going. I act like I’m gonna hop on and ride but push between my legs and launch the scooter forward holding down the throttle getting it to spin.

@@loganschultz7400 ok so I put it back together, turned it on and took off down my hallway lol. Nothing is flashing on the battery bar. It’s still on three bars and the charger is now in red which was happening before. The charger just stayed green the whole time. But seems like everything is working now. May still need a new battery soon but I’m thinking it was the connection. Thanks for the help man. I really appreciate it!

How would we know if we need a battery replacement Would the scooter not turn on?

Yeah typically that or it’s a bad connection inside the scooter. Or you start seeing less mileage from that battery I get a little over 30 mins going full throttle

Another way is if you fully charge it but when you turn it on, it only shows 3 bars or less. That’s what mine started to do :(

Can you upgrade the g2 plus battery to make it last longer

You can you’ll have to build a battery bank and tap into the wiring going into the stock system. People usually make a battery bank out of 18650 battery cells cheap and easy to work with.

So I bought one for $20. Bought a universal charger at Best Buy and plugged it in. Charger light up with a light but no power on the scooter? I assume battery is toast?

@loganschultz7400 reason I asked is I picked one of these gotrax g2 for free, but it's missing those 2 screws at the top to hold the handle on. Do you know where I can get replacement parts?

@@raywall5712 ohh I gotcha! And yeah can go to Gotrax.com and search for scooter screw and it’ll give you a list of different scooters for there screws or you can go to a hardware store near you and take a screw with you and tell them this is what you need. Or give them the specs above for some.

Today I removed the battery to fix a 25E error code. After I placed it back, the throttle dont work

@@loganschultz7400 well, there's a small magnet under the break handle that makes contact with a chip that's also under the break handle. The magnet was moved out of its little socket and the chip didn't work. In placed it back, and scooter is going like new.

For 2 batteries yes there price on Gotrax site changes so different days you can get them cheap and some are expensive just when people are buying them they’ll be expensive
