Thanks God you came back bruh! I’ve been watching your videos and all of them are super helpful! Thanks for this DIY!!! I have a request, I know you have a video showing how to connect your interior led glow to the headlight and you spliced the wires to the turn signal but I still don’t know how to check which one it’s my wire. Could you please make another video with more detail!!!! I would really appreciate that! I have a JL wrangler and I want to know how to test that so I can connect the interior led lights to the headlight button!!!! Thanks buddy!!! Keep doing videos dude! 💪🏼 😃 👍🏼 OIIIIIIIO

Hey! Glad you’re (kinda) back! I just replaced the brakes on my 2014 2 weeks ago. I have 2 recommendations that you missed or didn’t show. First I would definitely use Brake Clean to clean the rotors and everything and second you should really use brake grease on the brake pad slides (clips). Other than that, awesome vid as usual! Keep up the good work, brother!

FYI anyone who lives in northern areas with lots of rust, your rotors are going to be a huge hassle to take off and its likely going to take a WHILE to do so. Took me a couple hours per rotor because they were seized up so bad. Also another tip, do NOT engage your parking brake during this whole process.

You failed to mention that when you compress the caliper the brake fluid has to go somewhere and it will likely overflow the reservoir if you do not pull some out. It's also a real good time to flush out all the nasty Brake fluid in the system. you can use the bleed screw on the caliper to avoid pushing the old fluid back into the lines and then make sure the reservoir is still full after all four wheels are done.

Why would any brake fluid be nasty in a closed system not exposed to the outside ever, at least on the Jeep it is this way? You typically never need to replace it unless you got a new Master Cylinder or had a air leak.

He does not mention the brake fluid. When you compress the piston the brake fluid will overflow in the reservoir no???
@TrueNomadSkies
@TrueNomadSkies Жыл бұрын
Depends. As the pads wear, there is more room in the system so your level appears lower while driving even with the same/proper amount of fluid. When you compress the caliper to make room for new pads, fluid gets pushed up and some can spill out. That's why having the cap open and a rag or something around is a good idea. If you work slowly and don't compress anymore than you need, and weren't overfilled to begin with, the mess is very minimal or nonexistent.

For the front calipers can’t you compress the piston with a flathead screw driver before removing the caliper? You shouldn’t need a tool for front breaks, ever. Nice. Thanks for the video. Here’s some constructive criticism, Pop off the master cylinder cap, put rag under master, this way when the piston is compressed the brake fluid doesn’t make a mess. Also, if it’s really seized, use a BFH (big fuckin hammer) and smash that rotor, shock it free. A rubber mallet won’t work for a rusty seized rotor.

Thank I tried the screwdriver deal you suggest. WIN!!!! And Dex,if just doin a pad change just remove the Cali by taking out the two 13mm with the boots. makes fir a quicker pad change. I went with the Power-Stop Z-36 drilled slotted. Stop on a dime whereas the standard was alot more pedal pressure. Stockers seem to glaze up more than I would like.
