Dependent's visa is valid till the date mentioned in the BRP card. You dont have to update their visa before if you are just changing jobs.

Hi, we haven’t gone through the dependent visa scenario so are not sure. A viewer added a comment saying that dependants can continue on old visa till expiry date and then later on need to switch to new visa/ update their visa. But would advise you to check the gov.uk website and official sources to confirm

ILR counting will reset only if visa type changes. If you still are T2/Skilled Worker and change employer or SOC code, the counter doesn't reset.

@@engrnoorulbashar2552 whether you can change jobs will depend on the terms of your current visa. You should find this information in your visa decision letter. If your visa allows for a change of sponsor, you will need to reapply for the same visa with the sponsor change, and this won't reset your ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) counter. However, if changing sponsors is not permitted, you will have to submit a new visa application. In both scenarios, the Home Office will evaluate and decide on your application request. It's important to note that there is also a classification of occupations list. Some professions are on the Shortage Occupation List, which often results in higher approval rates, while others may face a greater likelihood of rejection.

If you apply for update before your expiry date, most probably should be an update. But better clarify with a visa consultant or directly clarify with the authorities.

Hi, some portion of the old IHS gets refunded to the one who applied the old visa, so check that. Then again for the new Visa update IHS fees needs to be paid again

Thanks for watching :) usually it takes ~3-4 weeks, depends whether you have opted for standard or priority/ super priority services, with the latter the decision is faster. Don't worry, wait for the decision, stay in touch with the visa agency/ employer in case of any delays. All the very best!

Yes new CoS process gets initiated while you are on the old one, so you can start the visa/brp update process. Not sure what you mean by type of COS

Your new cos comes with its own validity (depending on how long your employer is sponsoring you for), depending on that the new BRP validity gets updated. As soon as your new BRP is issued old one is no longer valid n you have to cut it and send it back to a specified address

You can do either ways. I informed my employer when I started the visa application process with the new employer as I wanted to serve my notice period during the time that it takes for visa update.

Hi Deepak, that’s quite a broad question to answer without context of your profile. In general we would say IT/Digital/Tech does have a lot of scope, and these are growing functions across most Industries. Hike depends really on your skill sets, expertise and value add as well as negotiation skills. Usually UK companies don’t consider outside Uk experience as relevant as in UK exp, so an internal move might be an easier option to move before changing employers

In my case, resigned before getting the new visa decision, so that the notice period at old employer and the visa update timeline goes together. The new visa will be with new COS/ new employer, so not advisable to work on new COS with old employer. but seems like a grey area, suggest to use your judgement basis your case.

Hello. Thanks for this video. Found it very useful. I'm currently in the UK as a Student Visa Dependant (My wife is studying here) The Student Visa is valid till Jan 2023. We plan to extend it for 2 years via the PSW option, i.e go for a graduate visa option and I will then become Graduate Visa Dependant. I am currently working at a software company. My employer is now sponsoring my Skilled Worker Visa. I want my wife to the extend Visa via Graduate visa route. My question is if I take up the Skilled Worker Visa and if the employer fires me later, can I switch to Graduate dependant Visa?

do we need the resignation letter from the previous employer if you want to swtich with a new employer and if yes so we have to apply in between doing our current job or we have to resign and than our employer will inform the home office like the applicant is not working under me or something like that

Usually ppl get a different job and then resign/ serve their notice. So don’t advice resigning before having another job offer in hand.

Hi, We are not sure as we are not immigration consultants. so please double check on gov.uk website & such sources. But as far as we can guess, you may be able to switch into another immigration route, but of course, you will need to satisfy the requirements of the immigration route that you wish to extend into.

Hi, it depends on you, when your next starting date is. Usually advisable to give notice as you start the visa update process so that you can serve notice while your visa is getting updated.

We didn’t go through this in our case but on the gov.uk website (see here: www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/update-your-visa-if-you-change-job-or-employer) it says Your partner or children will need to apply separately to update their visa. Please go through the details on above link.

Usual time can be ~6-8 weeks, but this can vary depending on the case loads that they have; fast track services like priority and super priority are also available if you are willing to pay for it. Biometrics is quite straight fwd, just be on time (15mins before your appointment slot is advisable) and carry the right documents (upload what’s needed online) and you should be fine.
