Reason why there is either 2 batteries or 1 thick battery it needs a large capacity because these remotes are 2 way - the 2016 fob will blink green if it has a successful remote start and red if it failed. The new fob for the 2020 is also 2 way but it doesn't show you if it had a successful remote start it also is for range
