Hey 1A Auto Parts, you need to edit the description for this video, it is NOT applicable to 2010 - 2014 models. This is for 2007 - 2009.

Seconding J Jack. Whoever titled this video did not do their research. This is NOT APPLICABLE TO 2010-2014. When Toyota did the "2nd gen" engine, they moved some stuff around. 10-14 has a canister-type filter located underneath the vehicle. It's a much bigger PITA than this style. Still a great truck, but know it's not this easy if you have a later model.

This video title is incorrect. The FJ Cruiser had a different engine from 2010 to 2014. The oil filter is located in a different spot on these engines.

Thank you so much for this video. I just got an fj 07 a few months ago, I want to try to doing the oil myself. I wish I can take it to your shop so you can inspect everything even the drive shaft 😅 I just want to be able to learn as much as I can and keep my fj up to date on everything

Thanks this helped a lot on the '07 FJ. Ended up wedging an empty maruchan cup under the oil filter spill drain. Didn't need to remove the brush guards either 🤙🏼

There is a metal nipple made specifically to attach a rubber drain hose to, to drain the oil for the oil filter area which should be done while the oil pan is draining at the same time. 07-09

Your video title indicates this is for the 2007 through 2014 FJ. But I can tell you right now that my 2014 FJ doesn’t look anything like that.

So if the filter sits upright and above the block, does that mean it drains every time you shut off the motor and needs to pump back up when you start it. Wouldn't that starve the motor of oil with each start up??????

I did a oil change on one of these today and you would not beleave how tight the oil filter was on. I mean why must some of these guys put on the filter so tight so the next tech has to struggle to get it off
