Very nice and straight to the point video with no fillers and extra stuff. I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla matrix and I will be doing my first oil change, but I don’t want to have to jack the car up. It looks like you changed the oil without raising the car. I’m gonna give that a try with my matrix because it sits higher off the ground than a standard Corolla so I’m hoping to be able to do that. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season 🎉😊
@PracticalMechanic22 күн бұрын
Much appreciated. Yes, it is definitely possible to change the oil without jacking it up, which saves time. With your matrix, you should have no problem. Good luck 👍

Excellent vid, doing this for a friend's car. That might be the easiest filter off I've ever seen though ha ha

@@PracticalMechanic Literally on my way to Harbor Freight to get more push pins after using a wrench from every angle wouldn't work until I got out some splash guards pulled down. From your vid I got reminded to turn the filter counter clockwise. Oil leaked on to my Milwaukee flashlight and ruined my expensive batter. Always 2 steps up 1 back for me. Ugh.

Great to the point video. Hey you were able to do this without any ramps? That’s pretty cool.
@PracticalMechanic Жыл бұрын
Yes! I used to use ramps, but after you know where everything is, it ends up being easier just to reach under! Saves time too!

USe CLEAN oil on the new filters gasket, PRE-FILL the new filter, it vertical! Check the dipstick to make sure! This car takes 4.4 quarts.
@gz6172 жыл бұрын
With filter 4.4 quarts Capacity shown is in combination with updated dipstick P/N 15301-22050. Capacity with originally installed dipstick P/N 15301-22030 is 0.5L (0.5 quarts) less.
@gz6172 жыл бұрын
Basically depends if you have the updated dipstick or not, do better research! People with 3.9L capacity might’ve listened
@gz6172 жыл бұрын
You know what though, you may be right because where you have the dipstick or not it seems like Toyota started recommending 4.4L to be filled? I cant understand this nonsense at this point
