thanks for your video, recently purchased a v-strom 800 and had my first oil and filter change at the Suzuki dealership and figured everything would be fine. But I have observed that the oil level is well above the maximum, so much so that you have to tilt the bike to the left to position it at the maximum sign. Even when I start the engine, the porthole level drops very little. I am very disappointed with the work they have done. I am willing to lose the 8 year warranty and do the maintenance myself. I maintain a Suzuki Bandit 650 (2007) and I have done all the maintenance, it has never broken down and I have never been to the shop.

Dealers cannot deny warranty if you work on your vehicle yourself. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for manufacturers or dealers to deny warranty coverage for this reason. Keep maintenance records of what you do. Warranty only covers manufacturer defects most of the time so if a repair goes wrong then that won't be covered.

How did you get that crush washer off the plug?
@derweibhai4 ай бұрын
The fact you need a special tool to reset the change interval is totally unacceptable.

Stripped wire does the job

I take it you’re not a KTM fan.

Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki. Not that I abuse bikes, but you can take a 30-40 year old beat up Jap bike and it will still start first kick. Orange won't even do that new.

So suzuki put this waste of time dealer mode on this bike and a bunch of other electronics but no cruise control???
@DADSGETNDOWN4 ай бұрын
Can't stand all the electronics, especially stuff like oil change interval. Just an extra cost and expensive electrics to break. For dumb people.

Things are getting really advanced nowadays. Kind of makes it harder for people to just do the work themselves huh? But that's why we are here, to help you do it in your own garage. 😉
