where do i get the filter for my klx 140R? im New to dirtbikes and havnt riden mine in 2 years and have never changed the oil

How much oil should I put in if I didn’t do the oil filter just change the oil

It's highly recommended to change the filter at the same time. The filter is designed to grab dirt/particulates, so in practice, you're adding some of those back into the new oil. Then you are left with a guess on how much oil to put in since you can't accurately measure the amount of fluid in the oil filter.

I don’t believe you are correct about screwing in the stick to check it . The X to me means to filled . You want to be right below the X .

The manual states to screw dipstick in and that top line is "High Level" and bottom line is "Low Level".

You do have to screw it all the way in to check it
