Aluminum doesn't rust but it corrodes heavily. All materials corrode when exposed to the elements. The plastic had heavy UV damage. You probably skipped the entire video and just talking fucking nonsense. Bet you cannot disassemble and assemble that engine on your own.

Even if this was a fake restoration and I'm not saying that it is, he still took a whole motor and the bike completely apart and put it back together which shows this young man do amazing work. Great job young man for doing great work and showing us people who don't know how to do what you are doing how it's done. Also how can we reach out to you if we have a bike that need restoring. I was ready to disagree with you, but after watching, he does break down the whole bike, which is what I need. He therefore earns the thumbs up. I still think there's a little bit of acting involved. The seat looks fine, the tires, handgrips, the wire harness, the spark plug. I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe there's a lot of mud and rain in that area, but this isn't the first time I've seen a restoration found abandoned under two shopping bags.

I totally agree! I'm not sure what slanging is but it sounds like trouble. The biggest problem is that people are spending so much time at their computers they never do or try anything like repairing or restoring anything in their whole wasted lives. They end up just flap their lips to make wind because they have nothing better to do and no experience to base their comments on. I wish the young man every success and he will probably accomplish more in his lifetime than all of the haters accomplish in their whole sad little lives. PS I haven't had a computer all my life so I've dealt with these problems and owned enough motorbikes to know what he did. I've restored kids Tonka trucks and other toys left outside and nothing was faked on this video. The aluminum oxidizes over time and gets that crusty appearance not really rust but definitely bad when it is undercover like it was in the garden corner. All the plastic was sun damaged and some fungi, like Pestalotiopsis microspora, can break down certain types of plastic. The poor motorbike was covered in moss or lichens that have little roots that cause the pitting in plastics, so that is why he had to fill all the little pinholes in the plastic. To identify moss and lichen, focus on their structure: mosses have leaf-like structures and a stem-like structure, while lichens are a symbiotic combination of fungi and algae, lacking true leaves and stems, and often appearing as crusts, flakes, or branched structures.

They didn't even try to clean the bike properly before dismantling it, just some sort of foam, then sprinkled with a garden hose. This motorcycle is in far far better condition than they would have you believe.

I agree this guy works very hard and appears to restore this bike. However, take a look at the front rotor during assembly, its pitted so bad it’s definitely well past the usable condition, its actually dangerous. Date code on tires is an issue also. Reassembly of the engine is also a little sketchy. If this is all done just to create content then well done. If the work is done to get a bike back on the road then a little more attention to safety issues could save a life. It would never pass a safety in North America and yes I know since they’re clearly not in North America I guess its OK
