@@TheHouseofHydro why do they need new disks? What happens to the old ones?
@carolineboenig77772 жыл бұрын
Had a misting fountain with lights that can set on one color. Stopped working and could not find a replacement that stays on one preferred color choice. Attempted repair based on several recommendations. The trick was immersing the unit head that sits in the fountain bowl - immersing it in full strength white vinegar for an afternoon and overnight. The next day it began working, a little weakly at first then it gained and by afternoon was putting out a decent amount of water mist vapor. Saved our fountain which we use for attractive decor and humidifying the room.

Is there a way to put them back together so only 1 or 2 disc will be activated opposed to all of the disc?
@TheHouseofHydro11 ай бұрын
No, definitely do not run without all the discs installed. Getting water under the discs is a sure way to cause failure. The best way to reduce the output is to use a voltage controller like you can use for an inline fan to turn it up or down. We have them available on our website or you can find them on Amazon.

Hi, I would recommend soaking them in vinegar for a couple hours and using an adjustable wrench in conjunction with the disc key. Typically they have last 3 to 5,000 hours in clean, cool water. You will have faster buildup from the solids and fertilizer, but the non-stick ceramic glaze that we coat the discs with will release any buildup after soaking in vinegar for just a few minutes. Hello good sir. I have a 10 head fogger which is a year old now, hooked up to an inkbird controller inside a tub to provide humidity for mushroom growing. It worked fine for that period of time but I’ve ran into an issue: the fogger is not making mist for the whole time the controller is giving it power. Fog is created (by all 10 discs) for about 5 seconds and then the discs suddenly stop working. The controller is still giving it power and the fan that’s also controlled by the inkbird is also still running. If I leave the setup running the discs will make mist every few minutes for 5 seconds and stop again. Although they should be running the whole time the controller is giving the unit power because it’s below the RH threshold. If the discs do not seem to be malfunctioning, what else could it be? I’d appreciate your expert opinion
@TheHouseofHydro2 жыл бұрын
Hi, great to hear from you! If you have the 10 disc unit, it doesn't sound like it is our unit. However, the most common cause of problems is moisture under the discs. I would recommend pulling all of your discs out and drying out the area underneath of them with a hair dryer for a couple minutes. This might correct the problem. You may also have a problem with water intrusion around the water level sensor based on the symptoms you are experiencing. If you can get it dried out and put some epoxy around the water level sensor, this may fix it. If you need anything else, feel free to send me an email at john@thehouseofhydro.com Thanks!

Okay I need to know if I'm screwed on this one. I bought an Exo Terra fogger a while back, and my knowledge around foggers to this day is slim. When I got the fogger, I just placed it in the aquarium and ran it, it worked great for months. Now all of a sudden it won't work, led won't turn on and it's pumping out little to no mist. I googled it and found out that you need this membrane/disc. Is my fogger busted forever, or will buying a disc fix it?
@jonaseriksson37828 жыл бұрын
Or, well. Atleast I think i don't have a disc in it. It's brass colored.
@TheHouseofHydro8 жыл бұрын
You can replace the brass discs with ours. You just need to know the size. Smaller than a penny is a 16mm disc, and larger is a 20mm disc. If it's still putting out some fog, you should only need new discs, or it may be a short of some kind. It's most likely discs that you need. Our high speed discs should help increase production as well. If you go on our website and buy the discs and they don't fix the unit, I'll sell you the whole mist maker kit for the remaining cost. ie. $29.99 minus the $12.49 you paid for the 3 pack of discs. Is there a way to block one of the disks if say you didn't need that much fog per minute ? I have a controller but its very on and off and I would prefer it be on for longer periods with less vapour.
@TheHouseofHydro3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately there isn't a way to "block" a disc. The only way to reduce the output of the fogger is to use our mist output controller in order to turn down the voltage resulting in a lower fog output. Please do not try to remove a disc to reduce the output. The spring area under the disc has a circuit board that will certainly short out if you allow water in that area. If you have any other questions just let me know! The output controllers can be found on our website at thehouseofHydro.com Thanks!

@TheHouseofHydro3 жыл бұрын
@@chrisdee8957 no, it would melt the duct tape. Ultrasonic vibrations cause heat. I would recommend to either choking down your output tube to reduce the air flow, or using a voltage controller. Any other way and you are likely to damage something.

Also make sure you don't have any additives in the water like bleach. Bleach can leave a film on the discs that greatly reduces performance. If neither of those ring a bell, try putting a new disc in it from the extra pack that we sent you. When you change outthe desk, see if there's any water in the spring area. If there is, let it dry out really well and put in a new disc. If none of those work, shoot me an email directly and we will get it taken care of. I don't always see you two messages because I don't check them as often as an email.
