DUDE! How do you get the dat-blamed cover back on!? I got it off and replaced the filter, but am having a hard time getting over the rubber fringe to re-insert the three plastic "fingers".
@fondupot3 жыл бұрын
It’s a tight fit. Once you have the three fingers in place you should be able to just lower the cover down onto the filter. And it creates a seal against the rubber. It’s meant to be tight.
@rickwoods39523 жыл бұрын
@@fondupot I appreciate the fast reply, man. I couldn't get the hose off, so don't have the play I need to back up the cover. Any suggestions?

@@rickwoods3952 If you can't get the hose off, carefully pry it free from the airbox tube with a flat blade screwdriver. Sometimes the tube gets stuck and its a kinda of a pain. Make sure you loosen the clamp as well.

1 more question. As you know, the 3.6 litter takes 5w30 oil...I accidently bought and changed the oil with 10w30 mobile 1 synthetic advanced protection 15 k miles, which isn't dexos certified. Done research and found oils are similar, just 10w30 is heavier. Should I drain it immediately, or is it ok for now? Your thoughts?

Do u know where the fuel filter is at?
@fondupot5 жыл бұрын
killer kev GM has been integrating fuel filters into fuel pumps inside the fuel tank for several years. I would guess that’s where it is.

I bought a Napa Gold Air filter. Only (1) of the (4) screws screwed in all the way tight. The other 3 are spinning in place. It looks and feels solid on there. Anyone else have the issue of the screws spinning forever?
@fondupot Жыл бұрын
The bottom of the air box has threaded holes in plastic. If the screws are over tightened the threads can be stripped out. Sounds like that’s what happened here. I would advise only using hand tools on those screws.

The owners manual says every 45,000 miles. More often if the vehicle is operated in extreme dusty environments. I tend to change mine out once a year, regardless of mileage.

have you thought about buying a K&N air filter?
