Hi Felixia, great vid, I always brush away the dust etc around both fuel and oil caps with an old paintbrush before refueling and oiling, helps reduce debrits ingress in both. The bits of sawdust that fall into the fuel tank over time are partly dissolved by the fuel, and this pulp, for want of a better term, can make it past the outer mesh, orange in your vid, and block up the scintered block inside the filter, so even tho filters look ok, they are blocked, which you can see/ feel if you blow thru them and see how much resistance there is on the old one compared to a new one, also when removing the fuel hose off the filter barb, I recommend using a thin flat bladed screwdriver to help move the hose off the filter barb pushing from the end of the hose, to break the seal, the hose over time can stick to the filter barb, and pulling it like in your video, can lead to possible damage, tho some would arge, if it tore or was damaged when being removed from the filter, it needed to be changed. Either way, great vid, and keep them coming, and as others have suggested, its worth rinsing the tank out, and if your going to reuse the fuel, tip it thru a funnel with a filter, so you dont contaminate the fuel tin. Love the vids, thanks for your time and effort you put into it, cheers from Australia.

WOW, I sure love hearing you talk, Felixia. I bet your MS 261 is the grandbaby of my 1st chainsaw I ever bought, my 026. Lots of good common sense tips you presented here. Over my years of owning this saw and eventually larger ones like an 044 and MS 660, I learned quite a bit on saw maintenance from factory trained techs and people who earn their living with saws such as you. I would like to share a video with you on some amazing details on fuel, fuel filters, and just how important they are to your saw.

1) Lovely to see some sunny weather in DK. Time for outdoor pork bbq. 2) I have an update on the 261 double dog jaws - You buy the one's for a 361 and they fit the 261. There is no part number for 261 double jaw but the jaws from the 361 fit.

The fuel filter might not have looked that bad, but you probably got a lot of stuff out with the gas. The maintenance kits are different in the USA, we might have to McGiver a paper clip 📎.
@Femalelumberjack3 жыл бұрын
Really that surprise me. This was a new one so they might have changes it?
@davesfarmforestvideos83953 жыл бұрын
@@Femalelumberjack I think they are probably changing them, these were sitting on the shelf for awhile. The Stihl USA website only shows the parts, and not the box. Keep making videos on the new Stihl stuff. 👍🏻

+Femalelumberjack Hi Felixia , any chance of a vid about basic safety on stance position, head, legs, surroundings etc ? like don't be looking along the bar incase shit hits the fan, theres a safety demo that goes around the local farming districts from time to time but with COVID being a pain theres no demos from the pros plus my girl will only watch your vids. :) and it gives you an excuse to CUT TREES down.
@phel213 жыл бұрын
Hi Felixia, do you have an opinion or video about Stihl MotoMix or other so-called environmentally friendly fuels vs regular gasoline with 2-stroke oil. Some Stihl-resellers claim that their new models require premium fuel, but it is awfully expensive. More than twice the cost of regular gasoline. I burn about 1000l of gasoline a year and the annual added cost of premium fuel could buy me two new MS261C's a year.
@Femalelumberjack3 жыл бұрын
I only use environmental friendly fuel to do my bit to protect the nature. For me the extra cost is well worth it and it runs great. 😊
