Thank you for the video. Simple and to the point. For quick reference the 5.3L takes 6 quarts with filter change and drain plug is 18 lb/ft

So remove the drain bolt AND washer, then let oil drain out and reinstall only the bolt but not the washer?

What's the difference between 10w-30 and 5w30
@gametheorist30064 жыл бұрын
10w-30 does better in higher temperatures while 5W-30 does better in neutral to colder temperatures. Sometimes, its recommended in higher mileage vehicles.

Hi Mr. Hernandez. A 10W-30 oil has a higher viscosity compared to a 5W-30 oil at lower temperatures. In colder temperatures (i.e. winter mornings), the 5W-30 will flow easier compared to the 10W-30 oil and lubricate better at engine start-up. However, at higher temperatures (hot summer afternoon) a 10W-30 and 5W-30 will have similar performance. Some vehicle owners believe a heavier oil (like a 10W-30) is better for older engines in high mileage vehicles. Since a 10W-30 oil has a higher viscosity, some believe it will reduce oil consumption, a major issue in some older engines. However, at the typical operating temperatures of most engines, the 10W-30 and 5W-30 have similar viscosities (i.e. they’re both 30 weight oils). At Valvoline, we know higher mileage engines need more than just a higher viscosity. That’s why we formulate our higher mileage oils with boosted technology to minimize the problems experienced in older engines, like increased deposits and wear, as well as, leaking seals. Please reach out if you have any questions for us.
