Good video thanks! Couple of suggestion since I have done this so many this on my Suburban 1) put a nail hole in the bottom of the filter to allow it to drain almost completely. Pop another hole near the top to allow it to flow a little better. Once the oil drains out, get a ziplock sandwich bag and cover the filter and remove. Any left over oil goes into plastic bag. 2) don't need to take oil fill cap off completely - keep it on after loosening it. Should only have it removed when actually filling. Would not want anything getting in there while cap is off. Performs same function as removing it completely. 3) try a Fumoto valve. Love them. So easy to drain and allows you to remove small amounts of oil too if you ever overfill. Thanks for posting!

Instead of using the "short" PF46 filter you can use the longer PF61 filter. Same width just longer and more filter media for the same price. Or you can use the slightly larger Ford FL-500 filter it screws right on and is better than the AC Delco PF46.

Do not prefill the filter as shown here. If you get anything in the middle it will go straight to the engine unfiltered.

Great video, Thanks for sharing the info. I have a quick question. I just got a Tahoe 2005 Z71, with 180k and is running great. Will you recommend to use synthetic oil on the engine ? and also a filter and transmission oil change ? Thanks.

Yes. Just use a jack and stands to give you enough clearance to work. No one wants a face full of oil lol
