How to change the oil on a John Deere 3020

GREAT VIDEO BOSS !!!! I'm changing the Oil in mine today and this helped ALOT !!! You have the same year as mine. We just went though the ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM pulling the Tank off and cleaning it. We found a SOCK in the bottom of the tank. (somebody must have used it for a filter and it slipped in by accident) Anyway..... Injector Pump: Rebuilt All fuel lines: Blown out Fuel Tank: Dismounted and Cleaned out completely Fuel Filters: Replaced Fuel Sending Unit: Still Operational Fuel Gauge: replacing as we speak Lights: rewired Oil: draining as we speak Look forward to more videos Suggestion: Next Video on how to replace the Hydraulic Fluid Filter ........and .......replacing Rear PTO Seal (leaking seal)

Thank you so much! I inherited my dad's 3020 & I have no manual with it to help me out & Dad's not around to teach me hiw to use it. This video just made my life so much easier! I should change that oil right away! Who knows how long it's been since it was last changed.

Looks pretty easy. Sounds good. We took the water pump off of the 1992 John Deere backhoe today at work. Going to pick up another tomorrow. Do an oil change and stuff. 👍🍻

where do you put in the hydralic fluid? Is it the cap in the back of the tractor?

@@AnglesideFarm yes I grew up running 4020’s but this is my first one of my own. It has a John Loader on it also.

I have one more questions for you. I was brush hogging with my 3020 and I was amazed at the amount of fuel it burned! I ran it about 12 hours and burned about 52 gallons of fuel! That came out to about 4.3 gallons an hour. I did a goggle search and found out that a study done by Nebraska University way back in the 60’s that some of the gas tractors burned about anywhere from 6 to 5 gallons an hour! I was wondering what you have seen with your 3020? Thanks!
