Great video describing how to replace O2 sensors on the Boxster. I have a 2000 Boxster with the 2.7 engine . Since I have access to an overhead hydraulic lift where I can stand underneath the vehicle to get at the vehicle’s under carriage and don’t have to crawl on my back in limited space, is it necessary to remove the rear wheel in order to get at the censors? I have the long-handled 22mm wrench to help me get into tight spaces.

+Larry Johnson thanks! You should be able to do it with the wheels on the car ;)

That was an awesome demostration, I bought in and working on my first ever project car. I love all of your videos. I think I need to replace o2 sensors as the guy sold me told it may need, How Can I know how to get the codes? Ii bought a cheap obd2 scanner, but it didn't work. Also, I followed your door speaker video awhilie ago and removed it, I want to know how to get the new wires to from door to dasahboard, installing mirror lights and cameras(followed your head unit install video too). I got many doubts with wire assembly for speakers as dash speakers are working but not the door ones. But anyway please help me with the other questions for now. Thank you

+@nalladimmukalyan5475 thanks for watching! Glad the videos have been helpful. I would either get a PIWIS or a Launch for OBD codes. I have videos on both, of course ;) As for wiring I’m afraid I can’t help there.

Question? I have a ‘07 Turbo with 36K mikes & have no codes or any symptoms of bad o2 sensors & going to put Fabspeed exhaust & was just planning on cleaning them with o2 sensor safe cleaner instead of paying another $1000 to change them now. I’m getting people who say there good for twice the miles+ & others saying to just do it. Someone else said just replace the pre cat ones? What’s your thought? Thx

You did not show how to unplug the left front upstream O2 sensor, which is very hard to get to. You basically cannot see it from underneath as it is up in the front block. It is really hidden and hard to get to. Do you get to it in the service mode?

Is there a good place to search for O2 sensor related error code? I got a P0140 and P1117 for the code. But no matter where I search, I cannot really know which sensor it is.

I have the same errors. They mean catalytic converter inefficiency. P0420 is bank one and P0430 is bank two. I tried using a product called OxyCat, recommended by my local Porsche racing shop and purchased off Amazon. It cleans the cats and that got rid of the bank two code. When I removed the bank one cat, it rattled like there were dice inside. That means the cat is dead and needs to be replaced.

Hi Aaron. You're a very lucky man getting that o2 sensor out so easily. Changed out both my pre sensors around 6 months ago and a week before doing the job I sprayed them 2-3 times a day with penetrating oil just to give myself a good chance at getting them out as they looked in very bad condition, but to no avail as they wouldn't budge. I then had to use a lot of heat and slowly but surely they started to move. So well done getting them out without to much hassle, I'm sure you were relieved. Mick 👍🍻

Great video and good camera work too considering the awkward space. It was also reassuring to see there was no problem releasing the sensor! BTW after watching your video about the exhaust tip mufflers, I bought a couple for my 97 Boxster (UK) and hallelujah! They got rid of the annoying drone that I have put up with for the last 4 years!!! Keep up the good work👍👍

PB Blaster, nope....WD-40....Nope.....Stinky Summers' Guaranteed Nut Buster YES!. a 50/50 mix of Acetone & Automatic Transmission Fluid, in a spray bottle. Works a LOT better than most commercial anti-seize lubricants. Soak the parts you want loosened, soak 'em well for a while. Acetone acts as a carrier for the ATF, it penetrates very well. Then the acetone evaporates leaving the ATF.
