This is the best video I have seen and also with minimal removal of parts. I already changed the passenger side thanks to your video within 30min and planning to do the driver side soon. Looks like I need to drill out the mounting hole and come up with a nut and a bolt.

This is the first door lock module replacement video I have seen where the window was not unconnected! WAAAAAY much easier! And, on top of it all, you were the first person I have seen that completely removed the barrel lock bolt instead of just loosening it. All the other videos state implicitly that it should not be removed at all, but no one ever gave a good reason why :) Thanks, this is the most valuable video I've seen yet on "our" Beetles. Mine is the 2005.

Oh, and how much did you pay for your lock modules, and where did you get them? Can you share a link?

@@AbsoluteRebuilds Why did you change out the door lock? My passenger side window is not dropping when I open the door from the inside. It drops perfectly when I unlock the door with the key fob. Once the door is closed, the window does not go back up immediately - there is a 15 second delay. Think a door latch replacement would fix this?

I want to second all thre compliments. You made it much easier then other videos I have seen. Not removing the window is a big game changer. Thank you. My 2006 convertible thanks you as well.

Why did you change out the door lock? My passenger side window is not dropping when I open the door from the inside. It drops perfectly when I unlock the door with the key fob. Great video, one of the best and simplest I’ve seen for removing lock assembly and fixing this issue. Looking for some post install help after swapping out the door lock the electrics behave like new, unlock with fob or key and windows drop as needed to clear hood the problem now that the passenger door won’t actually open from the inside or the outside. Before closing door the window dropped and the puddle light was on showing the new assembly was working, closed door now it won’t open - what did I do wrong?
