How to Change Tie Rod, Nissan Altima 2007-2012, Works with most of the cars

I had the most difficult time trying to unscrew that nut that's on the tie rod. The nut was suck to a point where it was almost literally stripped. So I grabbed my lighter torch and heated up the nut for at least 5 to 8 minutes. The nut easily loosen and I managed to unscrew that outer tie rod.

Two vital mistakes in this video. First he measures the distance from the nut to the tie rod end after he's loosened the nut. Count the number of turns it takes to remove the outer tie rod. This is the best advise I've seen, as well as measuring the distance from a point on the underside to the center of the tie rod. This will give a more accurate position. Also, there should be a collar that fits over the inner tie rod end and is bend down to hold it in case it all comes loose while you're driving. This is why you need to a tool to extract the old one. If you're a DIYer, like me, don't rely on just one video, I check out at least 3-5 before doing something I'm not familiar with. No one person covers it all.

The inner tie rods on theses nissans dont come with that lock washer your refering too !!

@@khockhong any good alignment shop will refuse to do the alignment with the lower control arm ripped like that
