I think you’re supposed to set the crank 4 teeth counter clockwise to begin this process. That is what sets the pistons in the non interference position so you don’t wreck the valves when adjusting the cam gears. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYLblHuZiseCqZY

looks like you're having trouble keeping the cams in position, there is a arrow that alliance to the top dead center along with the crankshaft with pistons, sometimes when the belt breaks it is a perfect tool to align the timing without having to fear of degree interference. to anyone that wants to replace valves or replace lifters do to ticking noise, don't forget to use that hand iero that comes with the engine

One time I would think. It could jump a tooth on the cam gear

@@rustyreckman2892 I read somewhere that as long as your crankshaft is at top dead center then your valves should not be able to touch the Pistons

Did anytime ever find out if Thr crankshaft being at top dead center means that the valves can not touch the piston? My cam lockers came off and my cans sprung open while at TCD so I’m unsure if I’m f*****

Lenny I think you’ll be fine. I don’t think you can damage the valves or piston moving the crank by hand anyway. I’d just line the marks up and then finish your timing belt install.

How to destroy your engine… Not be sure about what you’re doing. Not have a step by step plan and checklist of what you’re doing. Not have the right tools to do it. Engine rolling around and fidgeting with camera angles. No wonder it’s scary.

@@DadbrosGarage Следующий раз лучше делать через 70000 километров (лень переводить в мили), а не через 90000 как завод предписывает. Я сам на GTO езжу - это 3000GT только для внутреннего рынка Японии. Там вообще желательно всё менять раньше предписаного пробега: Масло в двигателе через 6000км, а в акпп через 20000км.

Хороший план. Когда я купил машину, ремень ГРМ был ослаблен. Подробностей о предыдущем сервисе у меня нет. Я подумал, что лучше просто поменять время, пока двигатель не работает. Я также дал ему новую замену масла.
