Good Job. I didn't know they made multi-piece replacement bushing system like that... eh, I'm gunna just use the regular 1 piece std bushing. If ever need do again will be easier having been through it. You're special bushing there is really cool though, thanks for post!

Excellent approach to that particular situation because I have not seen that "housing" for or those bushings, I ordered the bushings I must have ordered a different product.

Great video, thanks. Just finished this. Quite rusty on mine. Banging around with hammer and penetrating lube helps. Regular bolt/nut got stripped. So got 1/2'" diameter grade 8 fine thread (pitch 20) bolt/nut. The mechanical advantage of the fine thread and the hardened metal did the trick.

Great video! I couldn't what was on the right side while pressing in sleeve to allow the 1/4 inch part hanging out.

Great job moose!! I did that job once and didn't have the same jacking system I have now, it was a real pain as I had barely any access to crank on the homemade press tool! Question: I'm thinking about doing the bushings on my control arms and I was wondering if I should go IPD poly bushings or the Original Volvo ones? I don't know the difference or if ones better than the other.

marc cefalu IPD all the way!!! A lot of IPD’s parts meet or exceed Volvo’s standards, these Polly replacements are solid AF. The stock Volvo bushings seem to have a gap in the rubber to allow some movement which in the long run is no good!

@@Gohardmoose370 Awesome! Thanks for the info. Now I'm definitely going Poly!!

Nice creativity with the press tool. The official Volvo tool was a pain to use. A larger hammer would work wonders, and don't be afraid to hammer on those ears on the axle. They are very sturdy.

Nice writeup. Do you have any opinion about the method of leaving the sleeve in place, once the rubber has been ground out; then pressing in the IPD bushings to the old sleeves?

Jack Dedert the original sleeves are to thicc to accept them IPD bushings I believe I’ll check and update soon!

Nice video! Thinking about tackling these bushings on my 240 soon. What size spacer or pipe(?) did you use between the two ears to keep them from bending? Thanks!

george fava it’s the same piece of 2inch pipe just buy one extra and cut it half. Use a grinder to make the thing fit snug. Sorry I should have explained in the description or the video 😅
