The last couple of years I've spent a lot of time and money getting my 240 to run great. Now it's suspension time. I feel overwhelmed but it has to be done. I want to do it myself too. Thanks for the videos.

Great video! One of the best I've seen and right on point for my "bag of rocks" sound from the rear end of my 88 Volvo 240 SW.

I just did one control arm a few months back (hydroplaned over a curb and bent it) i had to have a bushing pressed out and a new one pressed into place at the mechanics shop for 15$ USD after that me and my uncle replaced the bent one with standard tools

I made a press/tool for the rear trailing arm bushings. They are not hard to replace with the correct tool.

How about the Volvo 760, Turbo, I have a 1988 Volvo 760 Turbo and it has the Multilink back suspension, What kind of bushings do you change ,or is it better to change all of all them.

It's not difficult to make a tool to remove the trailing arm bushings. The go in from the inside towards the outside of the car.

I bought (and installed) rear trailing arm bushings and Bilstein touring shocks for my 93 245. It started clunking AFTER I did this. Are the Bilstein shocks defective? I had some Boge TurboGas shocks that did the same thing back around 2002. The fix was to buy crappy Monroe shocks at the local car parts store, but handling was not as ideal. I'm just looking to see if you know if the touring series bilsteins have an issue with the eyelets or internal guts?

The same thing has happened to me with a 740 and a 940. Were you ever able to figure out what was causing the noise?

Thanks Cameron. My '93 960 wagon (solid rear) has some rattles from the rear end. I like the idea of making my wagon handle better than a boat (which is how it now handles) Do you think that with new poly bushings and stock Boge front & rear shocks and some new poly front components as well as some slightly lower front springs (30mm lower) I could approach the handling of a stock 850 wagon? (gotta love the 850 handling) Cheers Mike
