How to ● change your 2008 - 2013 Toyota Corolla Engine Air Filter

The engine air filter on your 2008 to 2013 Toyota Corolla is so easy to check or change. Definitely a do it yourself job. After you've done the engine air filter once, you'll be able to check or change it easily each year. Here's a tip: if the engine air filter is dirty, try vacuuming it and then cleaning it in soapy hot water and then letting it dry. You'll save money on expensive air filters and you may get years of life out of one air filter!

Also if you're wondering which side is up or down, take a look at the old filter and the side that is dirtier and has all the debris is the side facing down. That side will also have a small indent that goes all around the filter which seals it up

It can only go back in one way. There is no way to get that wrong. One corner is squared off.

There is a secondary filter inside the top of the air filter housing behind the Mass Air Flow sensor. Anyone know how to clean it? Mine is filthy!

Just use hot soapy water then rinse it well with a garden hose and allow to dry.

Actually it's not because they are cheap.....they have learned to integrate the "gasket" by using all of the same materials.
