God Apple music feels so so limited compared to Spotify. Can't change my artist name, can't change my artist genre, can't even make a bio that's not from a selection of stupid corporate conversation starters lol

This is all that I found: In iTunes Connect, click My Music. Search for the album with the track you want to update. From the search results, click on the magnifying glass icon in the View Album Details column. In the Album Summary section, click Edit Metadata.

how do i add a genre, when i edit my about section i only have the option to add names, hometown, & birthday

As of right now, there’s no way to change your genre on there. Depending on your distributor, you should be able to set your genre there for any song your release, and when they create your profile for you before you claim, Apple Music should categorize your music as that.

That all depends on the amount of streams and followers you get with Apple Music’s algorithm.

For requests to add or update a bio for your artist page, contact AllMusic and include “Apple Music Request” in the subject line. While requests for your bio may be submitted, responses to the request are not guaranteed.

Sign up to a distributor, release your song through them and they will make the profile for you when you release your first song. Then, you claim it from there.
