How did you carry over the image for boot logo to be the animation as well?

@@falonbacardi2847 I just used the boot logo as the image for these parts in the desc.txt file: 768 1024 5 p 0 0 part0 p 0 0 part1 I only used two parts, part 0 and part 1. I put the boot logo in each respective folder (part 0 and part 1), zipped it up with the desc.text file and, voila! :)

@@kevinbustos7746 No problems so far. Linkswell pushes regular updates but one has to be diligent in checking for them as they are not automatically applied.

I had trouble with my animation not working. @16.10 Jonathan tells you to ZIP your files. VERY important that you ZIP it WITHOUT any compression. So zero (0) compression !! You should be able to choose your compression rate in your ZIP program. Set it to zero (mine had the option "save") and that worked !! Video of that tomorrow !

In your next generation of this radio please add a plug in the back to allow for an ssd to be installed for storage of videos and pictures and of course games. Also please integrate the car play for apple and android phones. This would make this radio the best one on the market. Gen 6 would be amazing if you did this.

So the radios now can run up to a 1TB SSD via one of the USBs and has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

We don’t have anything that is specific for a 2010. Only thing would be one of our Universal Double Dins. Either of 13.3” or 10.1”

Ya, it's not a simple thing to build one. There are animations built out there. You can Google "Android Boot Up Animations" and find some. You just want to be sure they are the correct format. Then you would just copy the already built animation to the USB and follow the last steps about how to upload it to the radio

So I am not completely understanding what you are stating. If your settings page has icons going down the left side instead of the options across the top you need to update the radio to get the new UI and options.

Can I use my phone to download the pictures and connect it to the USB and send it to the linkswell unit that way.

No. A phone is not seen the same as a USB drive. A phone handshakes for app control. A very different device that is viewed very differently.

Any idea on what to do if the setting to change the boot logo is no where to be found? I mean I have searched all setting everywhere and the option to set a boot logo is not visible Anywhere.. As if the option has been removed.. I have a bsnav9 Chinese unit.. I have found that there are many logo options on the device, just no way of actually changing it

So that isn’t our radio. So it won’t have our programming or apps. You will have to reach out to the manufacturer and ask for their process.

@@mattcarver7860 the servers have been back up for a long time. Connect the radio to WiFi, not your trucks WiFi. Go to upgrade and run the MCU and APP updates.

The animation doesn’t extend the boot time. It is just to entertain during boot up. The boot time is only effected by how much memory is used on the system as a whole.

So long as the animation file is build correctly yes. This style animation isn’t special to our radio. It’s an Android thing. So you can find premade animations. It just has to be build the same as shown.

@@BettySB Google? You would have to look around for them. As for how to upload them you would just do the finale steps in the video. So you wouldn't have do all the file building just the file uploading.

What kind of zip file is exported as? How many images? How big are the image files? How many steps do you have?

@@LinksWellInc Same here, I have uploaded the bootlogo, that works well, but is doesn't pass the boot logo ?? I have used Winzip to zip te files, I have 22 files in part0 and 1 in part1, copied the exact same steps in the txt file as in your video. Pictures are 768x1024. Tried jpg files and PNG files as well .. How big may the images be ?? The biggest jpg file is 92kB here.

I'm learning about this computer and I will tell you from my years of working on computers, don't do this trash. Leave the image alone or put a really, really low res image on the screen so that it boots faster and so you don't slow the tablet down. Hello, you're buying a tablet here and it is a PC basically. I think this is a BAD idea. You have so much to offer with this device guys I know you want to focus on the cool stuff but please just make sure the darn thing operates the ac/heat and basic operation!
