great video! i'm still new to cricut but i noticed my htv sometimes doesnt cut well or my cardstock was ripping. so i asked for new blades for christmas, i got some. though the new ones say explore series and mines a maker (3). do you happen to know if its the same? the website was clear and i didn't want to wait an hour to figure it out from a person.

It does have to go in a certain way. Make sure the blade is facing down and the housing is secure down onto the gate

No, you will need the deep cut blade in the deep cut housing :)

My question is i dont have an option to select deep point blade even though i have the deep point blade housing and blade in the clamp b but i dont get an option when about to cut to change my blade as im using much thicker iron on glitter vinyl than cricuts brand and needs a deeper cut. Why cant my cricut maker use a deep point blade housing etc where do i tell my cricut maker that i have the deep point inserted????

You don't have to "select" the deep cut blade, just place it in and use it. Just beware that it will cut much deeper so be careful of the projects you use it on!

I just tried changing my blade but now my machine is acting out, when I start the project the it’ll somewhat start cutting then it gets stuck and won’t go up or down therefore it won’t cut can you help ?

I have a question...is it common for the new blade to cut all tge way through the iron on vinyl? It’s my first time using iron on vinyl and it cut all the wayy through the plastic backing, which is frustrating when there’s a lot of little pieces. How can I fix this?

Kamie, I just bought my Cricut so I am new as well. I did find you can adjust the pressure that is put on the blade during cutting. You can reduce the pressure in Design Space by going to the upper left hand corner and click on the 'menu'. Select Manage Custom Materials and then find the vinyl you are using. Click on the minus button 4 or 5 times to reduce the cutting pressure and then Save. Test it on a piece of this material and continue to reduce until it cuts how you want it. Hope this helps.

So, your maker wont "recognize" your fine point, deep point, or fabric bonded blades. Just insert those into clamp B and get to cutting! :)

On May 15th we're coming out with a video answering this exact question! :) But since that's a few weeks away, I will give you some sneak peek help, lol. Okay, so when you change to a new blade, it's super sharp! You must change your pressure settings to "less". You'll do this in Cricut Design Space right after you select your material. You'll see a button that says "pressure" and you'll drop down that menu and select "less" instead of its usual "default" :) This will tell your Cricut to cut a little less deep so your brand new blade will cut all material properly. You will have to set your pressure to less every time you make a new project. In a few weeks, you'll be able to start leaving it set to default, then when your blade becomes more dull, you can switch it to "more" pressure so you'll get a bit more life out of your blade before you have to change it :) Hope this helps!
