How to Change your Home, Startup and New Tab Pages in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge has different settings to change the webpage that opens when you start the browser, click on the home button and also click on the new tab button. You can configure each of these settings individually and have different pages for each one or have all of them open the same website no matter which one you use.
To change your new tab page, you can install the New Tab Redirect Google Chrome browser extension into Edge as long as you enable the allow extensions from other stores setting in Edge. You can download the extension here.

You may have to turn on the New Tab Redirect extension after installing it
To turn on an extension:
At the top corner of the browser, select Settings and more - Extensions.
In the Extensions popup window, select Manage extension.
Locate the extension you'd like to turn on, then select the toggle to turn it on.

I didn't matter what I removed on the "customization" page every single time I opened a new tab right front and center there was some horrible story about murder and death and other horribly dark news stories. It was honestly taking a toll on my mental health seeing that every single time I opened a new tab. Ahh....thank you.

@@yoyodawgsupbrah Well in todays day and age "if it bleeds it leads" meaning if there's horrible news then it will be the main thing that the media does a story on. There's also something called "doom scrolling"....people get addicted to the bad news and they start searching out those horrible feelings. Almost like they can't believe that kind of evil exists and they want to see more of it to feel this fucked up feeling inside. "Every time I turn on the news there's war and violence but when I go outside all I hear are birds singing." Go outside, love the ones around you deeply and find healthy activities that bring you joy and peace. Life's short....enjoy it.

Thanks for the video. Although we have switched to Mac, we are occasionally forced to use Windows. I was able to utilize your video to correct the massive bug in Microsoft Edge. Using a Mac, setting the page you want for a new tab is 2 clicks, no need to download anything. (Also, no ads.) Thank you for showing us the procedure, and thank you for reinforcing our decision to use Mac. Now, because of your help, every new tab in Edge opens with DuckDuckGo.
