What a fantastic video on Edge. MS did a great job moving to chromium, but they've added so much that Edge is really the best out there. It feels fresh, and the additional features work so well. I had no idea there was an edge task manager - Thanks for that - I no longer have to close Edge when a tab hangs - that will save me so much time. Love it. Your videos are amazing and so helpful. Opera is so bad at privacy, I don't know the moon one but Vivaldi, Firefox and Brave are the best option for privacy. Edge itself is much more private than opera yandex and chrome

I've been a big chrome fan for over a decade, with the recent upgrade of my computer and my operating system to windows 10/11, noticing Edge made me curious about if it is indeed better (because the design looked much cleaner and appealing to me), with the recent videos about this browser you sure proved it is superior, at least in my opinion haha. I can drag a picture or a highlighted text but I cannot drop them on the Collections screen as you show in your tutorial . To be able to do it, I must right click and choose in the menu "add to Collections". Also it is necessary to pin the Collections screen before any selection, otherwise the pop up Collections screen will dissapear. Why is this different to your tutorial? Is it because of a new Edge upgrade?

I spent a fair about of time setting up Edge tabs only to find that when you close Edge they all disappear. I was able to "restore pages" and get them back until I eventually lost them all. Too bad MS didn't allow for their persistence! I'll not be using those again. That being said, perhaps I overlooked a setting that I should have set in order to maintain the tabs.....if so, I'd appreciate hearing more about that. However, thank you much for all of your tips and how-to's...I've found them very helpful.

The only missing features in edge is : 1) extracting text from images in pdf documents and from the web 2) an ability to remember the page number of the PDF file that I opened last time using it. Please make this happen Microsoft!!!!!!

Outstanding, Leila! I've been using Edge as one of my browsers for quite a while, but I just learned 5 new things here, thank you :) I must read up on Profiles, that could be very handy for me. While I knew about Collections, I haven't used them-your demo was very impressive, looks a great feature. To date my favorite aspect of Edge is that it opens some sites my other browsers choke on-of course, long may that continue.

Edge has been my default browser for more than one year and your tips have just enhanced what I will be able to do. I am a long time Firefox user, but I did look at Edge, I took the plunge a few days ago, but I felt like something was missing, Sure is, I am missing File, edit, history, bookmarks, tools and help menu bar. I use it to save bookmarks. I don't want to have 5,000 websites on the favorites bar. I main feature I like on Edge is that split screen feature. Without adding any add-on or extensions or 10 different key strokes, does anyone know how to enable that? I wonder who is the intellectual who decided that it was a good idea to remove the menu bar? Almost every browser has it. I might go back to Firefox today.

I switched to Edge because of your last video "Why I prefer edge to chrome" and post seeing this I'll never go back in fact the features you have highlighted are amazing and so useful. For me, two features will add more to my productivity which are (grouping) & (profiles switching) Also for us as a large enterprise, managing edge updates via WSUS is way better than managing chrome updates... So that made us switch recently to Edge across our enterprise.

I have a big PROBLEM: In Chrome I used to have DIAL UPs for saving all websites in a very nice and visual way. But Edge either has NOT this or I don't find it. How do you make Dial up for your websites so you quickly reach 10 websites you can have in your workflow?

Browsers all suck now. Back in around 2005-ish you could customize Firefox to an insane degree. You could put anything where you wanted and control anything about it. Now I can't even move my bookmarks menu icon to the left of the address bar where GOD INTENDED. It's like all these corps decided we're all going to web surf THEIR way, and everybody dropped to their knees to thank them for it.

Edge has two pretty big flaws, in my opinion. [1] There is no native way to specify the URL for a New Tab page. It always opens where the Microsoft developers have determined for you. To specify the New Tab URL, you have to download and install an extension to do that, or go into the system registry (which seemed to revert back to the original URL after I took an update). [2] After about 90 minutes of searching the Internet I have found no way to create shortcut icons under the Google search field (if you use Google as your start/home/new tab page). (I am not talking about shortcuts on the Windows home page or in the Start menu.) I am ready to start using Firefox.

I've been using edge but there's just an issue. I can send pages from my mobile to pc to open them in pc while am in other room or something. But I can't do the reverse. I wanna send some pages from pc to mobile but can't do that sometimes. Is there anyway OTHER THAN YOUR PHONE app to do it ? Your phone app sucks. It just doesn't work and drains battery. For Windows running apps such as Microsoft edge, outlook, all other microsoft 365 apps as well as the operating system windows 10 itself etc. basically every microsoft created app that can run on your PC without internet connection - How do you save or backup those specific settings you have worked so hard to setup over a period of time just incase your laptop is damaged and you have to reinstall everything and start from scratch. What is the best and easiest method i.e is there backup data of all apps that I can save to onedrive or does all the app settings get saved in my microsoft account or how does it work. I seem to struggle to find info on the internet.

Is there any normal way to stop Edge taking over as preferred app for PDF files? On my work laptop, no matter how many times I switch to Acrobat as default, after sometime it will again go back to opening in Edge. So irritating. As mentioned - changing default app doesn't work and can't tinker with registry.

The only reason people does not use Edge because... Google refuse to support other developers using their projects (React/Flutter etc.) to be compatible although the browser literally use the underlying tech of Chrome. Share Market for Business Lol.

It appears this needs updating as I thought I would change to edge on the basis of this video. However the main thing that attracted me was the flexibility and functionality in collections, all of which it appears has been removed. There is now no option to add a note, dragging text does not work and the elipses menu from within a collection has disappeared completely to be replaced by LEARN MORE, like what? I am really glad I was a late view of this vid and had not adopted this system fully as I intended to use its flexibility to replace Pocket, suddenly all the functions have gone.

"Enter your search term" is displayed in an Edge textbox that nobody can get rid of, as evidenced by the frequency of inquiries on message boards of people asking for help. We don't know if it is malware or what, but none of the posted remedies work for most people.

Hi Leila, everytime I open up my Collection column on the right side, and hover my mouse to a section in the page and click on that section, the collection column disappears right after, so I cant drag what I want. Edge is good but Bing is behind on results. Granted, it's because more people don't use it so it doesn't have nearly as much data to pull from as google does, but that's not my problem. If I have to end up going to Google search to find more details that was excluded on Bing, I may as well (and have) just start on Google search. When I open a new edge window, I already have it set to open onto Google and I go from there.

Group tabs is fantastic. I try very hard to not context switch, but it still happens too often. With group tabs at least I can better organize the different work to make it easier when I return to it. BTW I have tried multiple desktops, but it seems like what I need is always on a different desktop and now I can’t see the two screens I want together without several steps.
