That's exactly how I do it. I do use a rubber sleeve, thou, on the plier. I find it grips better. Now, one thing I do differently is that I test for any leakage before I place the h-block sleeve back on. Reason is that I failed once and ended with a mess just because that sleeve covered a mistake I should've noticed straight away.

That is a good idea. Do you just print that first print without the boot or remove it and check after the first print?
@0Great_White0 Жыл бұрын
@@dandesigns3d because my printers are in enclosures, I test the print without the sleeve. A short 30 min model does it, as long as temp is a little higher than the one you normally use. Like, 220 C for PLA.

i would recommend you remake this video. Holding your heater block with needle nose pliers is a no-no. Look at your video when you are putting it on and you will see your heater block twisting. Much better idea using a wrench on the heater block.
@dandesigns3d Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. It's pretty hard to get a wrench on it without disassembling. The pliers work fine you just have to apply pressure opposite the socket wrench. See 3:03 the pliers actually tweak the heater block the opposite direction of the socket wrench. That movement is not much or harmful and will happen with a wrench too.
