Many thanks for the very clear instructions, great video. This procedure worked for me when replacing this part on a Traxxas 36084-1 Bigfoot The only difference is the vertical pivot which is a circlip retained shaft, remove the bottom circlip then remove the shaft and continue with the demonstrated process. Easy fix.

you guys make me feel so good about myself. I literally broke my Rustler 2 hours into using it. Steering Block and Castor broke from crashing into a curb. I used the metal replacement castor and a replacement block from Traxxas. Thanks for this video!

You will need to hold the spindle on the carrier itself to be able to remove your nut

Hey man, so my caster snapped, and I’m watching your tutorial, and I ran into a problem. The bolt that holds the caster and block together isn’t a screw, it’s like a weird shaped special tool . I didn’t get one with all the parts when I inboxed it, do you know how to take it off?

Tookenador Sorry for the late reply depending on the version you have you may not have a bolt itself or screw it might be a pin with C clips. You just need to remove the C clip on one side and able to remove that pin

djsprc hey man I have to same thing on my rustler with the clips, I removed both of the c clips but the damned pin won’t come out no matter what. Any suggestions?

The pin is likely bent. It wouldn’t budge one side but tried the other and got it out. It was very slightly bent. Few taps with screwdriver and put it back in hasn’t failed me yet but ordered 4 more in case.

No the only steering block that will work if it comes from a stampede or rustler 2wd. if you’re trying to use from another company it will not work

Excellent video! The steering block broke 20 minutes into using our Stampede. Resisted several types of glue as well. Do these break often? I will buy several extras.

David Schmetterer They may break yes depending how you drive the vehicle but look for RPM part at your local hobby shop they are warranted for life with RPM directly

Traxxas has made two models one with 2C clips one on top one of the bottom the other one is a pin with the Philip head screw.
