I just learn something, my wheel is in my upstairs wheres its warmer. The lord oil is not as thick on warmer days. Ive noticed in winter time, it works better. Does it matter in your opinion the lord thickness when using ans the temperature in the room?

Yes, I've heard this from the sharpeners up north. My clipper hone is in the office, climate controlled so I haven't experienced this. If the room is cold, I'm told you don't have to recharge the plate as often.

Watch the spark pattern for an indication. Some blades will need to stay on the plate longer and others less. Generally I'm looking at recharging after about 6 blades but depending on your plate, the machine and the coarseness of the grit there are variables. The spark pattern is your best indication.

On the Nebraska sharpener one side is for hallow grind the other is for flat grind. There should be a F on the flat side and an H on the hallow grind side.

No. the new ones are hollow on BOTH sides. You may have a very old one.

What size wheel do you prefer? I have a 16. Also, where did you get your laser pointer?

Of course bigger is always better but either size works. The laser pointer would be available at most hardware stores or on line. I've gone back to using the string. It doesn't run out of batteries.

One last question. Where do u order your grit from? Or could I use this 240 grit aluminum oxide fast cutting compound from Home Depot? 🤔

I get grit from The Edge Pro. I don’t know about the grit from Home Depot. I do know that the family from Edge Pro give of their training and teaching freely like I do taking time to answer your questions without asking if you are a customer. If I end up paying a few pennies more to help support their business I am glad to do this. Home Depot does not come to my free Sharpeners Jam and are not experts on clipper blades and clipper repairs. Their website is www,thedgepro.com.
