you only really need to check the trans fluid if/when changing "as its widely known that BMW mini's do require trans fluid changes" you simple park on level surface, drain all old fluid via the lower drain plug.. refit that.. there's a higher fill plug further up the transmission. to fill the trans, you simply fill the transmission until fluid runs out of the fill hole, then refit the fill plug (when filling the trans make sure the cars back on level ground or on a car ramp (LEVEL) don't fill it when the cars up on a jack lifting the front of the car etc

funny how they don't want you to check or change tranny fluid it's so your tranny fails and you have to buy a new one after 100k (all B/S) I do change my tranny fluid on all my mini's and any thing I own
