Great video...igot a 2016 silverado 1500 and my ATF reads way above cold whn cold and low when transmission is at running temperature, ive checked plenty before so im stumped as to why im getting that read from stick...thanks and love the videos ialways come to the channel

What if the transmission doesn’t quite make it 160 + range? Mine seems to die around 130 to 138 degrees. Would I still check it as hot?

It's a Chevy issue they say it's normal it's cuz they used bad torque converters and drive shafts a bad combo an no they won't cover it.... I guess keep eye on fluid pray it goes 150k and rebuild with new torque converter n drive till 250-300k I guess

Me too, no dipstick, GM issued a service bulletin to change out the fluid to Mobil synthetic, but how ? Got to be a fill port hiding somewhere on the transmission, and then how do know if the level is correct ?

Checked my fluid and it looks clear. Slight pink hue but definitely not bright pink or black. Any thoughts on this? 2012 Silverado 2500 w/ 130k miles.

Transmission fluid comes as a transparent red. The oil is still good. Transmission fluid should be changed every 40,000 miles.

You MUST do this . If you check engine oil its complete different , there you have to wait until most of the oil has flowed back into the oil sump, so the markers at the engine oil dip stick are connected with a car standig leveled on the ground and engine shut off for 10 to 15 minutes. If you check transmission fluid the oil has to distribute into all channels in the transmission. That's why you have to switch through the gears ( every time others oil passages open) If you check your trans fluid with engine not running you probably will see a fluid level on the dipstick where you think it is too high an make wrong decisions ( drain off fluid) . But in reality your fluid level then will be too low and damages at the transmission will occur ..
