Having an example back of an old belt to show would be great.

Thanks for the suggestion. In my experience the "shuffle" test is the easiest way to tell if the underside of the belt and the deck has too much friction. This can be caused by wear, dirt, or lack of lube. How the underside of the belt actually looks is not always a reliable method of checking.

Thanks Jon, can you help share a video which helps you be certain that the belt you have installed has just the right amount of tension. Also how do you know if the drive motor belt tension is right.

This should help for the running belt tension kzbin.info/www/bejne/ap2VfIWJiLibi7c You can use the same technique to check the drive belt tension. If either belt is too loose, then it will slip on the STOMP test.

Board feels uniform and smooth. The belts underside has a "orange peel" texture on the edges but smooth/silky on the core/center where you requested to check. The Walk Test was easy if i walked on the outer edges of the belt but was extremely difficult to walk when in the center of the belt. Does this make sense and, if so, any recommendations? Thank you!

I have a treadly treadmill, used, and it was fairly new when I got it from the previous user. However, now I’ve been getting an error code that says too much friction and overheating, so it stops to cool down. I’ve noticed the back side of the treadmill is cotton snd there is white fibers comes off from it now. Do I need a break belt or more silicone lubricant?

When I run on my treadmill it makes really high noted noises and I checked under the belt and it seems to be scratches on the deck? Can you please tell me how that happened and is there anyway to fix the noise, like a new surface to run on?

Are treadmill belts noisy when worn and what type of noise do they make? I have a positive shuffle test, marching the belt is quite tough, and a dirty underside edge though quite smooth in the centre underside. Treadmill seems very noisy at 8+ km/hr and it is not the bearings. motor is quiet when belt is loosened to the point it does not turn (including rollers).

They don't normally make more noise unless the deck is also worn out or the belt is misaligned and rubbing somewhere....
