Yep...pretty useless since if you have Service....you don't need to know if the phone is locked and if you are changing it, your network will tell you. The whole POINT of finding out if your phone if UNLOCKED to to set up a New Cell Provider...so anyone that wants to tell us how to ensure your phone is unlocked (when u have no Service ie No Sim) please Speak up?

T-Mobile have some various frequencies that some devices don't have. So while it might "work" it might not work all the time or lack features needed.

Got a note 10+ from my dad who said it's unlocked but checked with T-Mobile and two other carriers with IMEI number and they all said it wasn't compatible. Don't see network connection in the settings either. Runs very slow on WiFi despite 60 GB of storage available too.

I got a new phone on the way next week (a Samsung galaxy s10e) and I will be back to try these methods! EDIT: My phone arrived a week early!!! This doesn't work in 2022 on the Samsung A52. When you get to the part that says "Select Automatically" at 0:46 it is the only option and it is grayed out, can't disable select automatically. On AT&T phone.

My phone is unlocked and finds all the available networks, but has very low signal outside and no signal at all indoors. The phone has fallen down once and had to change the broken lcd screen, so maybe now the inner antena doesn't have good connection on the main board.

When you try to turn off the 'Select Automatically' option, it will search for all the available networks in your area. Just give it a few seconds.

The imei checker is always 100% correct. Your phone was probably re-flashed with a tmobile firmware that's why you are seeing their bloatware.

Used patched Odin and had the proper files for my phone based on my phone model in the about phone. I went from sm n981u to sm n981u1. I recommend doing some research and know what you are doing otherwise you could brick your device.

Yes, Samsung Note 20 Ultra. settings-connections-more connection settings-network unlock. You have two options "Permanent Unlock" or "Temporary Unlock". If you click permanent unlock and it unlocks, then I guess your phone was eligible for unlock.

This video is useless and caused me a huge headache by selling a phone T mobile still has locked. Just go to settings, connection settings, and more connection settings on Android and there's a Network Lock Status on that screen. Just use that, how this video doesn't include that is mind blowing to me. The first method does not prove a phone is unlocked at all, it just shows what carriers networks the phone is physically capable of being on The second is going to apply to less than 1% of the people watching this as who has a active sim card for another network just lying around?

Idiotic tutorial, why not just start try putting a different sim from another network, if it works its open if not then sorry. Also for dual sim phones operators can allow the 2nd sim to be opened for purposes of sms and calls only not for data, so the 1st instruction is pretty worthless as it will allow the detection of other networks
