How to Check Transmission fluid GMC Terrain 2.4L Ecotec

Maybe the lighting was from an odd angle, but your transmission fluid looked terrible. I'm pretty sure it should not be black. (Last one I drained was a lovely clear pink at 100000 km.)

@@edattfield5146 Yes, the fluid looks rough. I’ve read that if you exceed the trans fluid change interval, it’s best just to leave it along. A fluid change at this point may do more damage than good. I’ve decided to leave it be. 170,000 miles so far.

​@OldSoulMillennial I got even more confused with the fact that if you didn't do you trans fluid at the interval, then you're supposed to leave it like that with the old oil to replace it when ? Never? Just tapping ?
