And that’t how simple it is but - indeed - so very important. Not only to avoid (expensive) damages, groundings or similar disasters but also because it’s just fun to do so and to know your boat inside and out. Great video!

I would add one thing especially if you are coming on a new boat, check the stuffing box, if it has something like a blackjack and the boat was recently out of the water, it needs to be burped before you go anywhere.

and if the outer edge (top edge) of the fan belt is in any way concave, it needs replacing (ex RAC engineer). ;)

Thanks. Nice video to refer people too. You can never have enough spare belts. One point: Do you not check the sea water strainer as a matter of course?

Yeah I normally always check I couldn't get the bugger off they can be so tight. 🙄😂

Water. Can't believe you didn't actually show opening the strainer. That's the entire point. Debris can affect water pressure and cause issues. We never turned the engine on in the RYA course without checking. Flowing water at the end is potentially impeded by skipping this step.
