You should do videos like this more often to help consumers make the rite decision on what to purchase. Great job 👏🏻

Nice video, and I love your Dowelmax videos. I have a ton of Woodpecker's stuff and lately been frustrated with their production. They are always behind on things, ship dates 2 months down the road, etc. Your video just proved to me they are rushing in their production of tools as well to catch up, and some of the quality assurance is now lacking. Was looking at some of their miter gauge stuff (mostly the longer gauge bar and stealth stop fence) but I have an Incra 3000.. think I'll just stick with that. Hope you get it worked out!!

Thanks Barry! I think that is the problem. I've heard from a few so far who have the same problem I do. I have the Incra and it does a great job. I thought I would give the WP a try. Sorry I acted on it. My only wish is my channel was bigger that way I could reach more people to warn them.

I just received the WP miter gauge and have yet to check it out. I hope I do not see problems like this. I have bought a number of WP jigs and tools and so far have not seen any problems. I would like to see comments from others on quality of this tool.
@Woodcraftedworkshop Жыл бұрын
Maybe yours will be okay. I'm going to make another video this week to show what I have found. I have other WP products too and have had no issues. Maybe they rushed this one out.

OMG !! This video reminds me of a review we did of a different jig that had decent build quality and no repeatability, just can't remember the name of the tool. I also remember not holding back either. Wish I was there to assist in the review. That jig is a piece of crap and it looks like it was made in the USA, wow . Who knows perhaps they'll start distributing their tools through Harbor Freight.

Hey Mark! Yeah I was a bit disappointed with it. I contacted the company and heard nothing back. I guess they have great customer service too. By the way it was called the mortise pal.

I have one of these on order, their next shipping run is June 30th. I am starting to think I should cancel and get the Harvey.

From what I'm hearing from other people is you're going to have to make some adjustments. Maybe the second run will have the problems worked out and you'll be okay.

Hey Brian ... The detent positions on my Stealth Stop miter gauge all line up as they should, but there is another problem. The aluminum extrusion they are using for the fence is .4815" thick, while the rabbet on the MDF zero clearance blocks they sell with the fence is .5000" deep. What that means is the MDF protrudes .0185" past the fence face, making it impossible to get a square cut. I also don't like the fact that I have to use a tool (ball wrench) to get the stealth stop to stay in place. I am very dissatisfied with this product ... definitely not up to Woodpeckers' standards!

Hey Gerald. I grabbed my digital caliper and checked it out. Yeah it's a problem. You wouldn't be able to cut a square piece at a 90 let alone at an angle. I removed the zero plate and checked the 45 angle with a delve square to the blade and the detent is off. The angle reads around 45.5 to get a 45. I will be reaching out to WP to let them know if they don't already.

@@Woodcraftedworkshop I brought this to their attention ... they recommended using some shims on the backside of the MDF. I sanded about .0018 of the face of the MDF to get it flush. I also told them I am not happy with having to use a tool to set the flip stop ... they are sending me some replacements for it. Their Customer Service rep is pretty responsive ... looking forward to hearing what they have to say about the issues you encountered.

I’m surprised that Woodpecker would sell that mitre guage. This opens up a kink in their trusted product line. I say charge more and give more if that’s the issue.

The wood blocks are the problem. After some resizing all is good. Not that I should have to correct a new tool.

The saw blade needs to be perfectly parallel to the miter slots. The miter gauge needs to be square to the miter bar on the edge without the compensation adjusters and on the miter fence to the table. Finally, the miter gauge fence needs to be square to the saw blade. If it is not which yours appears not to be it needs to be shimmed. Most miter gauges are not adjustable for this adjustment to the fence without shimming or readjusting the saw blade. I believe the Hongdui miter gauge does have this adjustment. This problem may not be the fault of the Woodpeckers miter gauge and fence but in its set up. Every table saw will be different and the ability of the owner to perfect it is on him.

I'm in the process of of looking into what is going on with the miter gauge. I will put up a video when I think I've figured it out. I checked out the Hongdui....It looks like a nice miter gauge.
