Looks like your miter gauge does a fantastic job. However, check out the picture frame sled the Drunken Woodworker, aka "make something", did years ago, and the update video. I made one. Real game changer!

As a retired high school wood shop teacher, one of the many things that I drilled my students on when using a table saw was to NEVER use both the fence and miter gauge at the same time when making a through crosscut. If it becomes necessary to do that, they were shown how to use a stop block attached to the beginning of the fence to set the distance. At the 3:23 mark of this video it shows you committing what most woodworkers would agree is a serious mistake. Other than that, it's a nice project.
@Woodcraftedworkshop
@Woodcraftedworkshop 22 күн бұрын
Guilty as charged. Not to justify my actions, but the fence backing the board is 12 inches long which supports the piece nicely giving pretty good control. Not saying what I did is 100% safe & I don't recommend anyone doing the same. I know shop safety is important & I need to implement it a little more in mine. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

Not bad for a simple project. You should have attached the chargers to the shelf and notched for the cords.

Love your videos! I just accidentally drilled into my clamping bolt by not aligning my peice properly and forced myself to rewatch all of these videos again to attone for my expensive-dowelmax-destroying sin. After watching this particular video it made me feel better that i had some hairline gaps in my large panel glue ups, similar to the end of this video. Ive noticed with mine that the glue and clamps closes up the hairline gap. Did that work for you on this beefy peice?
@Woodcraftedworkshop
@Woodcraftedworkshop 22 күн бұрын
Thanks! You know you can pick up replacement parts from Dowelmax. The panel showed gaps because of a lack of glue and clamps. Once glued up the gaps disappeared. So yes to your question. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!

@@Woodcraftedworkshop thanks for the reply! I'm glad that gap disappeared! I picked up the extra part and an extra drill bit. One long and one short like your videos. You sold me on that convenience haha.

Try using yellow automotive masking tape. It sticks very well, won’t rip like the blue stuff and has enough stretch. Won’t need a strap clamp. Turned out good.

Love the two router tables for the dowelmax lift. Was wondering why you made the dust collection box for the second one so much larger than the first. Was it to minimize the escaping dust?
@Woodcraftedworkshop
@Woodcraftedworkshop 29 күн бұрын
Thanks! I built the second station knowing what I didn't like about the first. The dust collection on the first one wasn't that good. I still had chips coming out and onto the floor. The second router station has dust collection that's unbelievable. No dust or chips escape the collector.

Thanks so much for the video; mine came down to the cap that holds one of the brushes had wiggled loose (vibrated loose from the billion rpm motor!) and wasn’t holding the brush in far enough. Same deal, after a beer break (which allowed thermal contraction of the brush as it cooled?) it didn’t turn on.

I built the credenza from my head. I found a credenza I liked at Vermont Wood Studio. I based mine on the one they call the American Shaker Credenza. I used their overall dimensions, and made some changes to their design to fit what I needed. If you check them out you might be impressed at what they get for the one the size I built. Thanks for the comment!
