A thousand thanks: he mechanic tole mt the oil leak would not affect my. driving but would not show up on the car dash so I had to get somebody to check it every month and now I can do it myself. Excellent illustration

It's hard to see the real level of my oil on my 2015 Lexus RX350 Sport, once you pull out the dipstick the oil is all over the stick (8-10 inches from the tip of the dipstick), I followed my manual it say 6.4 US qt with filter. Tried it several times and same result, the car is on the level ground and it hasn't run for 8 hrs.

mines the same on Lexus ct200h. not sure what level it's at. will need to bring it to dealership to check. did u ever find out the issue on your car?

the engine should be off for at least 5 minutes before you check engine oil.

Should the oil be cold or hot? I have different indications in NX.

Check the oil when the engine cool. The engine can be warm, or cool for a transmission oil check. (The transmission dipstick has a "hot and cool" mark). It doesn't matter if you check it got or cool. Checking it cool avoids the risk of burning your hand.

the Oil guy down the street put too much Oil in my Lexus C250 it's a 2010 model after the engine started it was shaking noticeably it went away after a couple of minutes have ANYONE EXPERIENCED Anything LIKE THAT ? also it seems he put too much oil in the engine

It is extremely important NOT to overfill the crankcase. If it is overfilled, engine oil MUST be removed.

I have all my Lexus repair and maintenance work done at Hendrick Lexus Kansas City North and request Jeremy to be the mechanic. He knows there's no point in wasting a clean shop rag to wipe off the engine oil dipstick. Just use your fingers.

Very poor instruction. He left the engine on. You should always check the oil with the engine off after waiting at least 5 minutes and make sure you are on a level surface.
