How to Cheese and Defeat Dragonlord Placidusax in Elden Ring (Easy Kill)

First of all I want to say, I used the arrow strat today (5/20/22) and it definitely worked. Just a few things to add to the cheese: 1. This video has the player waaaaaay too close. I don't know about anyone else, but every time I stood at that very spot and shot the dragon, it would wake up and start attacking. I would recommend being a little further back so you can attack it without triggering anything. 2. You need to be able to craft poisonbone arrows (fletched) and have the materials to make a lot of them. The game only allows you to carry 99 arrows at a time ,and you are likely going to run out arrows before this boss is even at halfway health. It is going to be a big help to be able to make your own arrows so you can continue your attack. Poisonbone arrows (fletched) require the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook 3 and for materials you need are: thin animal bones x3, poison bloom x1, and flight pinion x1. This will make you 10 arrows. For the arrows to trigger poison on the dragon you're going to need to hit him with around 30-40 arrows. If you are using serpentine arrows (which can be purchased from the Isolated Merchant shack in Caelid) it will take you around 25-30 arrows to trigger poison *Added suggestion: Craft some bloodbone arrows (fletched) and use these to attack once the poison is triggered so you can do blood loss damage on top of the poison. This is also as a good way to not waste your poison arrows. To craft the bloodbone arrows (fletched) you need the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook 6 and crafting materials thin beast bones x3, blood Rose x1, and flight pinion x1 to make 10 arrows. 3. Also the dragon's health bar will not show up until the poison is triggered and will disappear once the poison stops. So be patient and keep firing arrows. Also, once you do a certain amount of damage to the dragon, it will stagger and will fall out the sky, but it will not attack you. Do not panic, just readjust your aim and keeps firing. Also regarding your aim make sure you're actually hitting the dragon. Sometimes from that distance the arrows will miss. Make sure you're hitting so you don't waste any arrows.

Update: Rotten Breath seems to be pretty ineffective and Mimic a little too sloppy. I recommend just focusing on getting to the dragons peripheral with blasphemous blade and running max black knight tiche. Two tries

Worked perfectly for me today, ty. I used poison arrows and rotbone arrows, so it was quicker than just the poison ones. Ty for the instructions cause ffs, I was tired of getting the boss to 10% HP just to die from something stupid, lol.

Ancient dragon lightning strike with a faith lvl soft cap of 50-60 max. Talismans I used are ritual sword, faithfuls canvas, Godfrey icon, and sacred scorpion charm. Flask of wondrous is lightning shrouding cracked tear and cerulean hidden tear just because lol summon the mimic tear same build and stick to his tail (watch out for the second heads flame) he does two of the same attacks but if you dodge them or have an armor that's resistant to lightning then either way just spam the great beast with ancient dragon lightning and you'll cheese him before he even gets to stage two. Hope this comment helps.

Obtain Comet Azur, and dump AS MUCH into INT as you possibly can. Use any talismans that increase magic damage. Lusat staff also increases damage. Now for the important part: Get the bubble tear for your physik that grants unlimited mana for like 30 sec. With this, you are ready. Summon a spirit to distract placidusax, then run behind and slightly off to the side, but far enough back his fire wont hit you. Absolutely BLAST him with a Kamehameha-esque beam. If done right you can kill him in one blast, before he can even enter phase 2. Sometimes he will do his lil jump and leave the area of ur beam. You will die. You will return and try again. This strat worked in NG+2 for me. Hit him for over 26,000 damage in one blast of comet azur (Min/Maxed my charecter for 99 int). This strat works on almost any large or slow moving boss, but can be hard to get a good clean beam on smaller or faster moving bosses.

Tips: 1. when the dragon is teleporting on the ground just back up the targeting will ensure you stay away from the claw swipe, there is enough time to do 1 quick spell or ranged weapon art I tend to put black flame circle on the ground so he swipes into it on his next teleport and sits in it. 2. For his dive bombs you want to doge roll away from the side with the claws if you doge roll into him he will sometimes leave electricity on the ground from the drive by. 3. when he roars doge roll twice once there is lightning and you will be out of its range you can then get in 1 ranged attack before you have to move again. 4. Its usually best to save your summon till the moment he starts to hover at 50% health this will give you time to look for his cloud and ready your doge it has enough time for you to do this.

As of patch 1.05 the poison cheese doesn't work anymore. As soon as he gets poisoned he wakes up. Doesn't matter how far away you stand.

Ogles my good man! Ya done did it again lol. So when this game first came out I bought it cause I loved open world games. Had no idea what fromsoft and souls-like games were. Took me like two months to beat it. But when I found out that there were more games like Elden ring, that were very challenging, I vowed to play all of the fro and souls-like games. You were a witness to many of my endeavors. As I came to you many times for strategies. I’m now playing Elden Ring after two years and the only two bosses so far that gave me a challenge were the double gargoyle bosses and this one. The double gargoyle is a get-good boss for sure. And this one just hit way too hard. Last time I used a tactic using the Bloody Helice cheese using a successive attack something or other. I took him down in three hits and I’m about the same level. But I couldn’t get it to work and couldn’t find the video that explained it. But you were at the top of my search again so of course I watch your video and after 5 tries and fails I used your tactic. Beat him first try lol. Ogles strikes again!! Your strategies are legit brother!! But seriously, after two years of slugging through all those games, the rest of the bosses were so easy compared to my first time with Elden Ring and first ever experience with a FromSoft style game! So much more fun this time!

@@Ogles Yeah man and much of those strategies I owe to you. You see, you know how many souls-like and fromsoft games there are. Think of how many bosses there are in each game and how many games there are. Thats allot of friggin bosses! And when I first started coming to you I believe it was DS1. And when I learned your strategies, combining them with my own play style, I then would use some of that skill to take on other bosses. Of course I ran into a good many I needed help with, but as you saw in the successive games, I would only come to you on the HARDEST of all bosses now. And I owe much of my skill to you, and well to FightingCowboy. His walkthroughs were a godsend and good lord does he put an epic amount of work into them. Each and every one starting with a Lets Play where you can first watch him try and fail with certain tactics. They would last for days and days and weeks and weeks for the bigger games. But you are the only one who uses strategies everyone can do. Cowboy is just a very VERY good gamer and he just steamrolls them bosses sometimes. Which had me coming to you to find a better way and you saved me SO many times. I wonder if ill ever have to come back to you for the last few bosses LOL.. Like the last two gave me a super hard time so im curious to see how I stack up with all these skills now. What I do is a first enter an area, do it myself and then I watch the walkthrough to see if I missed anything, so I’m not getting my friggin hand held through the entire game like I did with DS1. Now I have the skills to enter dangerous areas and take things on myself, especially bosses. All thanks to you over the past few years. Thank you. I will always try to come to your videos first whenever I need help with strategies. Even though you call them cheeses, they rarely ever are legit exploits that could be considered cheeses. @@Ogles Ok so last night I was trying to see if I could pull an Ogles. 😁 And just keep battling with Melania using many different weapons to see if there was anything I could do to maximize beating her. A legit strategy. I tried using piercing weapons behind a Barricaded shield cause shes weak to piercing. That didn’t work, for as soon as she did her little water dance move she can fly over your shield and hit you in the back. I tried using heavy weapons like a colossal great sword to stagger her but she can quickly float out of the way of those slow telegraphing hits. Tried using black knife Tiche summon to distract her cause Tiche is quick but she doesn’t last that long. So finally I figured I get technical. So I upgraded the Nagakiba to +25 and the Rivers of Blood katana to +10. I put the seppuku ash of war on my Naga and put it in my left hand with the ROB katana in my right. I put on the White Mask and the Lord of Blood’s talisman for extra damage when bleeding is nearby. I entered the arena and summoned my Mimic this time. Ate some exalted flesh and a boiled crab claw, threw on my wondrous physic with successive strikes gain more power and a one free hit takes no damage Two handed the Naga that’s in my left hand, used seppuku, switched back two duel wielding and now if I don’t change weapons that buff applies to both weapons. Then I lured her near to arena entrance and my mimic and I pinned her against the tree roots and just pummeled her spamming the Corpse Piler ash of war on the Rivers of Blood katana. She went down in like 30 seconds. 2nd phase I did the same. But this time i only went in for strikes when she was distracted. Took patience but I was able to easily beat her with that setup. You should try it out n make a video about it brother! The strategy is all yours if you want it since you have helped me SO much!

Great strategies!! i tried a few times with tiche and blasphemous snd then rotten breath and rock sling but continuously died on his teleport flying down move. i hated that he could just one shot me like that. so i found another cheese where i summon latenna and place her far down the arena and then i run back to the spawn point, activate the boss and then stay in the first circle simply dodging the lightning blasts as latenna eats away his health bar. i don’t feel bad at all.

Magic users rejoice! Ogles delivers again, but …. This method worked for me only until second phase. Each time I had Placidux’s health nearly depleted, he one-shotted me. Problem: he re-materializes too fast around a gigantic arena to allow for effective dodges. If you are struggling then try this SOLUTION: Ancient Dragon Lightning Incantation (Crumbling Farm Azula acquired Prayerbook). This allowed me to slay Placidux BEFORE he reached Phase Two. I still followed Ogles excellent positioning & strategy (perfect advice) up until he use the Blasph Blade. Instead, once behind the beast I cast the Ancient Dragon Lightning 3-4 times, always rolling left to stay behind as he went after my mimic. He just vaporized before ever reaching Phase II. Still follow Ogles advice on the approach and Rotten Breath though.

They patched it. As soon as the arrows inflict enough damage he wakes up no matter where you're at and ask for the Scarlett wrought it washes away because of the rain he's almost immune to every status inflicted damage except for bleed. One shot kill seems to be his mo. And your not allowed to call in other players to assist and your best SPIRIT will die before his second phase. FCK this game its going in the trash in done with fromsoft

After several attempts I decided to give this method a go. I began shooting poisonous fletched arrows at a considerable distance, but after 20+ arrows or so he indiscriminately begins to rain lighting on my ass. He does remain in the center of the colosseum, but I’m unable to hit him due to the intensity of his rain attacks and die as a result. I then tried the rotten breath/blasphemous blade strategy and though the rotten breath did induce a substantial amount of damage, my blasphemous blade art of war doesn’t seem to work well at all.
