Bested yellow loong a few days back before I had that needle. I main smash stance, but he forced me to experiment on my playstyle. I then found out that thrust stance is very effective at limiting his combos, as the heavy attack causes him to flinch. I agree, the key is to keep the fight from a distance and capitalize on those specific moves. While on my run he typically goes to 2nd phase at 80% health (maybe Im chipping his hp too fast) I had to dodge that 2nd phase of him like 3 times (ridiculous combo btw I hated that). Good video nonetheless!

On my first try, I beat him. I did your free hit thing. On the second phase I did pluck of many, immobilize - free hit 2x, my monkeys immobilized him. I got the third free hit and then went into ashen and free hit him.

well weavers needle comes after defeating duskveil most of us dont even have that while fighting with loong so 2nd phase at least for me wont work anyway thanks for the video maybe you should mention in title for ng+ cheese

@@SonOrevic My apologies, I should have clarified that weavers needle technically isn't necessary. It helps to stagger him while raising your attack and crit chance, so it's great to use. However, with some RNG luck, your clones will immobilize him a few times, and you might also freeze him. Additionally, you can try chipping his health down 70% to 80%, before trying the rest of the strat. Also, you can just go get the needle first. Which is what I did, I didn't find Duskveil too difficult.

Umm, so all those points in to "Cloud Step" arent needed? You never used teh ability in this fight?

@@heroicgoo915 Thank you for pointing this out, I COMPLETELY forgot to mention this. Cloud step is meant to be used as a fail safe against yellow loong's second phase. If he happens to enter his second phase, use cloudstep and wait for the boss to finish attacking the decoy, then hit him with a fully charged heavy smash. In his second phase, yellow loong hits harder but behaves the same way, so continue the strategy.
