The thing about this game is some of these bosses just spam heavies and banes attack constantly and even if you mess up once you get punished severely. I generally don't go for cheese builds cuz it makes me feel like I can't play souls games. But with this boss I don't even regret following this strategy. Good shout g!

thankyou. the trick you showed worked. the boss was difficult though. a tip for those who have not defeated him yet. Dont use your cloud step in the beginning of fight. Attack and dodge in the first phase. In second phase the boss will attack combos. then use your azure dust and cloud step after that to defeat the boss.

By far the best strategy! I could not defeat him without initially doing heavy thrust attacks (about 3-4). Then moved on to your strategy. Timing is key to land big hits.

I was able to get him in 9 hits, no time tamer, no gourd sips during cloud step(forgot) but I'm lvl 86 and have good gear so I hit for 2500-3k every hit. Nice job.

I found your videos when I got stuck on Yun Tiger. I knew about how hard this boss is and immediately went to this video. Got him 4th try. Messed up my timing on first couple of tries and activated pluck of many by accident. I try to fight the bosses normally but I didn’t want to bang my head against the wall for hours on this one 😅

I've been stuck here for a while. Thx to this setup I beat him in 3 tries. I just use thrust stance cheese till 3/4 of his health bar the switch to smash stance and using this strategy for the rest of the fight and it worked flawlessly. Thrust just let u do a few free shots

Mana really is the key to this, I find I can get him down to about 15% pretty easily but then im wiped out. I can see it's potential though. Timing is very important to get those really powerful attacks. Also relies on a bit of luck with crit too.

Thank god! This was such a good setup and worked so well. The thrust stance was so boring, and he would randomly agro me, and i would die. This is so much faster, the hits are harder, and i beat him on the second try. The only reason I didn't do it on the first try is because i was trying the auspicious lantern curio, and i forgot to switch to the jade essence drink. But this is so good

The biggest issue most people are having (and I can guarantee this , because Yellow Loong has so much more health than any other monster fought so far) is impatience. This fight isn’t that hard if you have patience but it’s so easy to see how little damage you do and want to try and get off that extra hit and it’s not worth it. Sit back and pummel him from distance and use cloud step when he uses the lightning dashes. Although it takes minutes, eventually he’ll start dodging your heavy attacks. That’s when you stop him and use pluck of many and go to town (do not use heavy attacks at this point because it will be countered) and that should get him down to a low health range. Now use your transformation and if that doesn’t kill him then you’re on your own for the last slither of health. Do not rush in, his attacks are 6-8 strings long and they have a lot of downtime afterwards. Get in and whittle it down. This was by far the hardest boss I’ve fought so far, even worse than Scopionlord for me
