This is a really well thought out vlog, you really thought of everything. Im thinking of coming to Cambridge next year, I am a mature student and a lone parent with 2 children one under 16 and the other above, where you say is good for families?

would love to see a video about all the different colleges! I'm interested in applying to Magdalene or St Edmund's (I'm a mature student) for an undergraduate degree in PBS. Would you have any advice?

Hi! Thanks for the video! I’m planning to get PhD in Education? Which college will I choose? Does it offer student accommodation for international students? Thanks.

What do you think about goville and caius college for medicine? Im really considering but every other video ive seen about like ranking the colleges has shown it to be really like very snooty and with horrible accommodation 😅
@SavannahPhillipss Жыл бұрын
Hmm, the current governing body of caius doesn’t have the best reputation of making good decisions for the college among students, which contributes a lot to the ‘snooty’ stereotype but the actual students there will be fine and lovely :) in terms of accommodation, caius’ main college site (I.E the central part with the old buildings) is *very* small. As a result there’s hardly any student accommodation there. Instead students are housed at satellite sites around the city, some of which can be relatively far from the main college site and the centre of town. On the flip side, caius is pretty and quite rich so they will have money to spend on their students haha. If you like Caius, I would recommend St John’s or Pembroke, which are also pretty and don’t have the accommodation problems caius has. Clare College is also a lot like caius but also has the same reputation and accommodation problem. Hope this helps :)

Which college would you recommend for a person applying for PhD degree if one’s preference is financial aid and distance from the university? I’ve been looking at St John’s , Selwyn and Sidney Sussex. Please let me know your opinion

Under grads should accept ANY college that accepts them; assuming it has their major. I also recommend that if a prospective student has money concerns not apply to Any Cambridge college. Why? Short of money creates stress and Cambridge studies are quite intense! The combination of money worries and strenuous studies is just too much stress!

how about trinity hall college?
@SavannahPhillipss2 жыл бұрын
I like trinity hall a lot! Although some of its accommodation can be quite far away from the main site, it otherwise seems to be a great college :)

What college would you recommend to a future med student? :)
@SavannahPhillipss Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I imagine since you’ll be going to addenbrookes it would be good to go to a college that’s on the U bus route (a bus that is subsidised by the uni and goes straight to addenbrookes) - so any college on grange road, queens, Pembroke and peterhouse would all be good choices imo :)

Fitz is actually my fave of the hill colleges, the rooms look really cozy and it seems to have a good community feel to it 🥰
