Well I do know a CO2 laser can't cut or engrave metal. But I would love to see a engraving of colored metal, and by colored metal I mean only the top layer. Like text or name plates.

@@patrickh9810 Hello. Thanks for your comment and request. As you mentioned a Co2 laser machine can not engrave metal. For this task you need a fiber laser marking machine. The fiber marker engraves gives relief images, marks and changes the color of the surface of the material. With the Wattsan fiber marker, different marking colors can be obtained. The marker heats the surface of the metal at certain frequencies, which gives different shades. Also it's possible to engrave and mark on painted metal. @@virmercnc Still thinking about your answer. So it's not possible to engrave anodised aluminium like the following link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iICZk4mgqc2in68 I do know it's from a different company/brand, sorry about that. But maybe it's better to understand what my question is when you see it.

Very informative, thanks. But still one question. When cutting acrylic 8 / 10 mm, do I still need a 120 watt tube?

Hello Patrick! Thank you for your comment. 80W laser power will be enough to cut 8-10 mm acrylic.

You can’t cut, but you can engrave it.

Agreed if you are working with very thick material. But for that you have to use a long focal length lens. And then it will be easy for you to work with acrylic.
