Features that I look for: 1. When stuck in mud, and you pull your foot out, the sandals should still be on your foot. This requires strong reliable straps that attach it to your foot. 2. When walking around, protect your toes, heels from accidental injuries 3. I have had pointy sticks almost poke me through the side openings, so any protection on the sides would be desirable 4. Quick Dry with waterproof material 5. Sand that gets into the sandals should be easy to wash out - may be simply by putting the foot into the water and taking it out 5. Light weight -- so I can carry it as a spare while hiking in shoes

It looks like an excellent minimalist chest sling bag with a belt that keeps the bag in place. The strap would be handy if one is moving around a lot.
