First of all, i find your videos really interesting, dude. I was wondering how important it is for an engineering student to be mentally gifted (something like that) to be able to do this. Many say that engineering is one of the most complicated degrees to get, but this difficulty is based on the study load or the complexity of the topics. Is it possible to get a degree without being Einstein?

I think 90% of the deal is hard work, motivation and determination. Dedication is the most important factor in my opinion. If you are passionate about the field nobody will stop you from studying even 8hrs a day to succeed. Of course "gifted" peoples will have it easier, but not even always. What ofter happens is that they tend to rest on theirs laurels and end up achieving less then the peoples busting their a**. I would say that engineering is for everyone if they are willing to sacrifice more time and effort. Sometimes passion wins intelligence. This of course is my opinion and if you ask some friends of mine they might tell you a total different story. It'd be nice to see a discussion under this comment to see what other people thinks!

I have just seen your previous video and really like the atmosphere of it. You going all around the city to attend different courses in a great university. I am moving to Milan with my family next year to do high school in St Louis, and then study engineering in university. Thank you very much for releasing some new content! Love watching a daily student life around Milan

@@christianferracane I'm probably going to do mechanical for bachelor's. Because I want to keep all options open. I will probably do masters in aerospace but that is a little bit too far ahead in the future. And you mentioning salary is an important factor because many companies(especially in USA) are not allowed to give jobs to foreigners due to ITAR regulations. And in my country(India), aerospace is just starting to come up. So I'm not sure if I will be able to secure a job if I have a degree only in aerospace.

Hey, what's up Christian, did you do the tolc test to admit to the University of Milan?how many marks did you do im the Tolc Exam to get in the aerospace engineering in the University of Milan? Also, where did you come from to study in Milan? Do they welcome people coming from other countries in the college?

Hi, I'm from Palermo and I'm considering pursuing aerospace engineering at PoliMi, since in Palermo we don't have this department... Though, I have to consider the rent, the fact that I have to do all the house-keeping stuff etc. so i'm kinda confused. If I stay here, I'm gonna start mechanical engineering but i'm not that sure. What would you suggest?
@christianferracane
@christianferracane Жыл бұрын
I suggest to understand better what you want to do in the future. Do you think that a machanical degree would allow you to secure your dream career? If the answer is yes, and most of the times if you compare aerospace and mech it is, then I think you should stick with it. Try to make some calculations on the amount of money you would save by not moving away and think about how much you could make if you were to invest those money. Living in Milan as a student can (and will) cost up to 2500€ / month and you still need to pay the university. 30k a year (way less if you find a cheaper house, eat cheaper food and try to save on everything but I’m assuming you don’t want to live like a miserable for 5 years I’d your life just to be an aerospace engineer and not a mechanical eng.) instead of the 1500 in Palermo? If I were in your situation and I had 30k spare euros a year I would invest them and not even consider university probably! It’s up to you to decide, but again generally there are very few jobs that will be only available with an aero degree and not with a mech one.

Youre planning on going to study space engineering in the US? Do you have a greencard or will you just not work there and come back to europe? Isnt it a hassle to go there even though you cant get hired there because of ITAR? Also in the dream jobs you listed nasa and spacex… neither of which hire europeans?

So I have heard that, to work as an aerospace engineer in the USA like Boeing , nasa etc. they have a requirement for a green card. so what do u think about that and if any solution .

Volevo chiederti che app usi per prendere appunti (per iPad), che a volte ti ho ho visto usare Notability e a volte GoodNotes
@christianferracane
@christianferracane Жыл бұрын
Uso entrambe in contesti specifici diversi.

@christianferracane
@christianferracane Жыл бұрын

I think the pay really depends on the competency of the engineer. The really passionate and keenly interested individuals move up the ladder in their companies and based on their role pay can be much higher than their compatriots in the same companies. Applies to all professions. For ex- the top design engineers in F1 are paid very very high salaries because they have high pressure jobs. If they build championship winning they get lots of profits but if they don't succeed then they don't get much in terms of pay and reputation.
@christianferracane
@christianferracane Жыл бұрын
Agree! Still, on average, there are countries where people get generally paid more than in others. The same goes for the specific role and seniority. I think that in order to determine how much you really value as an engineer you should ask yourself how many people can do the same job as yours.
