The brown color is not the basis for fat crabs because king mud crab is not brown

You didnt scrub the shell enough :D, the grey thing on the head are actually cooked mud. You have an old green mud crab and an old red mud crab. There is however a blue mud crab, but when it's full of meat it's almost always black completely with slight blue hue. So It's more about a darker shade of shell rather it's tint (blue/red/green) but yes most of the time they have this brownish or dark yellow hue. I'm more curious where did you find old crabs. They are almost impossible to find in most normal wet market.

Thank you for the information Edmund. Still got lots to learn and improve on! Will find the black mud crab with that slight blue hue. I get most of my live crabs from Sheng Siong and sometimes from FairPrice Finest.
