I own a Speedy 100 and now I am using a different brand of lens because my old one broke, should be a difference of quality and focusing?

You are blaming that 4" lens for something it is not responsible for. Logically if there is enough power in the spot size to engrave the rest of the bitmap why does it disappear when the text gets smaller. If anything, that small text should become indistinct or a white blob because the spot size exceeds the text linewidth. I'm sorry to conclude that this must be a parameter setting issue. The PWM frequency and linear speed are not matched to the resolution of the bitmap. That 4" lens is a passive device. If there is a light signal to transmit then it will do so without question because it has no decision making capability. The missing bits of text (and other small details) are therefore missing light signals .

So is it my understanding, that if I wanted a crisper image from the 4" lens, I would have to move the 'Z' offset away(Up) from the material? Thank you for the video. Rick

Hi Rick, no the 4" lens let's you get away with more curves and valleys on a material - for example if you're engraving a skateboard if you use a 1.5" lens, you'll start to see charred edges where the board curves away from the focal area, with a 4" lens it will be a smooth engraving throughout. However if you're doing photographs, or very detailed engraving, we only recommend the 1.5" lens. 4" lens is also used for cutting thicker materials.

Which lense is best for MDF with fine cutting ?
@TrotecLaserCanada
@TrotecLaserCanada 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Usman, that all depends on the thickness of the MDF and the type of laser your using (and wattage). If you can provide that information we can let you know.
